What an amazing place But not much car and will be very difficult to get in the summer . No public toilets or cafe or bars no where to eat. Be very careful of the Weaver fish We had a lovely night stay here, definitely some strange locals 'policing' the place, I'm sure if we weren't stealth camping in the field they would have asked us to move! Lovely for (swim in very middle seemed safest). A set of caves to both sides of the to explore. Beautiful hidden to and small BBQ and family or dating activities here. They have the coffee over there. there is no place to change clothes and toilet but have free area Schöner Weg bis an die Bay und man kann auch in Ruhe auf der Bank sitzen und den Naturgewalten zuschauen Really scenic but no facilities. There was a closed coffee dock there but no sign to tell you when it might be open, that I saw. 2 bad roads down with the distinct possibility that if cars parked along it, traffic could be very impeded. Limited carpark with room for perhaps 6 cars, depending on how carefully people park. Still a gorgeous though . Arrived at the 3rd March 2025 and was shocked to see the has mostly gone. It must have lost a metre of in places, exposing the rocky shelf below. From what I can see it looks like a lot of has moved out towards the sea, the goes a lot further out at low tide. It was low tide when I visited so I was able to walk the but I had to walk over the rocky shelf to get there. Clearly the winter storms did the damage, maybe the stream flooded also. I hope it comes back, it had lovely sand. Didn't knew about this place. Been to Nohoval Cove earlier. Rocky looked safe for kids to swim. Dog friendly beach. Good space for car parking. View from the car is amazing for people who want to enjoy it from This is very accessible, clean, quiet, and lovely with its fine brown sand. It has also coral and rock formations wherein rich in seaweeds and different marine life. We enjoyed our walk and exploration, perfect time to go here during low tide. Nice for a sunny day out. Great place for your kids and pets. I found many dog owners come here. You can here or sun bath. Rocky Bay has a beautiful high cliff face. No stones/rocks on nor in the clear water. It’s gorgeous & only half an hour from Douglas,Cork. Absolutely Stunning and Fantastic place for the kids. Beautiful stream from up the hill comes down to the making it the perfect play zone for the small ones in any weather. No kids - Great to start a walk of the coastline but be mindful of the tide times. We ventured to the right of the beach. Great adventure through caves along the way and Picked up rubbish to bin on our return to civilisation. Great for a and a paddle and overall 10/10 Beach. Good place for a walk. Once had a chance to see a very hight tide with lovely waves hitting the cliffs and rocks.
