Lovely place, looked all dreamy with mist and fog. Not much area to around though, quite slippery on a wet day. But view is beautiful. One of the most spectacular little spots on the Cork coast. Fantastic rock formations visible from the clifftop just 5 minutes from the (extreme care necessary as winds can be strong at times). 19th. century Lime kiln buildings still remain but on private property. I would advise against bringing a car here if it is busy as it may not be possible to turn around. Great quiet place to bask in the sun. If the tide is out then you can go down to the too (path can me mossy and slippery so be careful) and there are some small caves nearby! Be careful cause the tide can come in very quickly though. Beautiful cove. Try to get there for low tide or a lot of the will be inaccessible. You will also need to cross some running water to get to the beach. The area is pretty small. There are some ruins to check out, but you do have a small stream to cross to get to them. Above the ruins is a good overlook of the This is an absolutely beautiful cove and great if you enjoy photographs of nature's beauty. There's isn't much walking as it's quite a small cove with the remnants of an old slate mine still standing. I visited at the end of May on a Thursday, and it was tranquil with beautiful sunshine, so I was lucky. However, I wouldn't advise visiting here at the weekend during peak months as a tarmac leads down to the cove, and there's no more than four spaces. It is certainly worth the visit if you get there at the right time of year. Good place. But not worth to plan seperately.If you're on the way then you can spend sometime. The roads are very and is also difficult. So better to avoid during peak time. Can visit during the off season. Beautiful place but it has been plastered over with a lot of warning signs directly on the ruins which wreaks the vibe of the place. Clime on the top of the hill is challenging but also very picturesque. On top of the hill you of course encounter another warning sign that no trespassing and no liability is taken. The cliff at Nohoval Cove is closed off now so a lot of the lovely pics down over the rocks can't be captured. Been a few times. The is very limited and the very narrow. There is an old slate mine ruined here also. Not sure if I'd visit without being able to do the cliff walk. I've attached some pics from 2023 and August 2021 Unfortunately we realized in 2025 the landowner closed for the public the tiny trail. We can’t see anymore the incredible stunning views above the cliffs. I share some lively video how was in tha past years and how is closed and castle collapsed in 2025. So so sad Truly magical place, very remote. The is rather to closer to the spot and there's very little space to park. Maybe 4-5 cars can fit at once. Non the less, it's a stunning place. Especially when the sun is out. Absolutely stunning place, where you can relax while observing spectacular views and wild life. However, on summer days / nice weather days there will be a problem with and accessibility. The is quite and there is almost no place to park. The is not very big so it can be crowded. But it's a place worth to see if you're in the area ☺️ This place is an incedible view, but is no longer accessible due to the landowner blocking public access, Lovely here, however quite roads to pass through to get to, plus be careful on your stepping, I couldn't down nearer the rocks as it was very slippery. As pictured. Lovely and peaceful. Best going early morning when bright. The drive is beautiful, but the lack of directions makes it tricky to find. I think a few things have changed since some of the past visitors have been here- mainly- the property around the viewing area has been marked as private property and gated off- so from this point- you can’t see much. We were able to climb out o to the rocks, but then the tide started coming in so we climbed back. We weren’t able to see any arches in the rocks from our vantage point and would have had to climb onto the private property to do so- so we ended up leaving after 15 minutes. Beautiful place, calm and mesmerising. Great for a brisk and sitting under the sun. Incredible spot! I went on a Thursday night and nobody was here. The cliffs are magnificent! The is very so be careful while driving. Also, there is very little parking. The is not always there, if the tides is not low, only a bit cliff and sea will be what you see. just be there for 5 mins and left. Just 4-5 place.
