Slightly more expensive than other fisheries in the north east but it is worth it. It’s an excellent fishery, the are in great condition. I fished here twice this year, the first time was the end of August when the weather was hit. Sweetcorn worked well then. Today was much colder sweetcorn wasn’t working so I tried mussel and also prawn in the margins, I was fishing with a pole and power kit, it was way too light for the fish. I should have broken a heavy rod out. Anyway a great day despite the wind. The in the net don’t look that big but the net is 2 feet across at the bottom! It's not a bad place! There's a decent amount of spots, but i can see it getting quite busy in high season. Pegs are alright, nowt fancy. Very reasonably priced for what it is. There's a couple of toilets on site ( one is being fixed at the moment ) the owner is nice and down to earth. I've enjoyed myself even though I didn't catch anything (other people got a few). There's room for improvement, but for the price it's definitely very good. I spent an amazing 5 hours fishing at carrs, lovely mature well stocked lakes with lovely looking and pristine fish, barbless hook rule is working well in taking care of the fish, I had a long conversation with the owners son, obviously someone who knows what he's talking about and a passion for the fishery, keen to help out, no negatives at all I finished the day with 20 carp, 5 in double figures and the biggest a perfect leather of 18lb 8oz, I also caught a load of skimmers, roach and rudd when I had a play with my old Mitchell reel and stalking rod, literally a every drop! What an amazing place! Clean and well ran i had 20 in 5 hours, nothing massive the smallest was 5lb and the biggest 13lb Nice place to fish, son got his first carp, it was a little fatty and still had a bit of fight in her so had to help him keep her safe. Cost a little more than other lake but when the kids are at school its bliss. Great place of match fishing style. Plenty of bites and some nice fish. Seems like a really good place to but not what I brought the gear for. There will be some big in there, but they seem to be vastly outnumbered by the smaller ones and extremely shy. Didn't see anything over 3lb or any indications of the bigger ones. Would have been a really good day if I had a pellet waggler and awaited one of my big rods for a lucky bite. I chucked in some micro floating pellets and had the upper water column completely filled with smaller carp. Quality days fishing to be had on lighter gear. Don't expect much action if you're just there for the big ones. Next time, I'll definitely be taking my pellet waggler to keep me busy while waiting for the juicy ones to make an appearance. Great place to we have fished here 3 times and caught more than 3 every time. We have only fished lake 2. Some of the are large. I like the fact you don't have to book but maybe a on the same day online payment would be good so cash is not required. The shop is also good. Absolutely spot on! It’s our go to fishery. It is £15 but the are well looked after, the nature is cared for and the staff are lovely and there is an onsite tackle shop (it closes at 11am) Plenty of variety of :) Use to here alot till I moved away 13 year ago. The silver lake had just been finished off and 1 match had been fished on it with a very big bag wieght. I be making the 2hour drive back at some point to it again hopefully shortly Should be a premier fishery. I think the average size of the is low given the age of the fishery, the cynic in me believes that the big are sold on. The average size should be well into the twenties by now if not at least the high teens. Lovely waters but ticket prices are high.
