There is the added bonus of having a small river flowing out to sea in Sandsend which creates a small lagoon for a warmer paddlung experience than that of the North sea. There is a reasonable amount of roadside parking and free public toilets nearby though it is an enjoyable 2.5mile walk from Whitby along the promenade and beach. There are a handful of cafes in which to buy refresments as well. Sandsend is a stunning stretch of coastline that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and historical charm. The soft golden sands are ideal for relaxing, beachcombing, or enjoying a leisurely stroll along the shoreline. What makes this particularly special is the breathtaking view of Whitby and its iconic abbey perched on the cliffs in the distance. The sight of the abbey against the backdrop of the sky and sea is truly picturesque, especially during sunset when the colors come alive.
