Food was really more than ample portion , we could not have had dessert. We will visit again. The food was worth the wait really good. Thanks Amazing hideout in Moor road, Whitby, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, We stopped by on our way to Hull from Newcastle. Loved the little cottage ambience and authentic food they served by staff! Very reasonable prices and got surprised 4 real coffees for 11 pounds! Parking is available by the farmland next to buy road and can get bit depending on the time of the day. Great little place, nice and quiet out of the way Great food And they have pork parmo!! I was told about this place by a friend, and I asked my Mrs to book a table. Our sat nav took us to the door, and there’s a big car park opposite. We were greeted and told to sit at any free table. There was only 1 member of running around , but managed brilliantly to take our order. We had a nacho thing and crispy skins, then I had a burger and Mrs a Parmo. We were too full to have a desert. All the food was well cooked and tasty. The Nachos were definitely a great way to start, and would recommend if you like that sort of thing. The skins were skins, not wedges like they sometimes are. The onion rings were huge, and really well cooked. We will definitely be going back, the menus are huge, plenty to choose from. Came here on bonfire night because it is dog and remote from anywhere which might be setting off fireworks. We were made very welcome, and all the dogs there (and there were many) were quite calm. Some pleasant background music was playing at a reasonable volume, and the background chatter of people eating and drinking meant our dog just chilled out rather than pacing the house and worrying. The hosts made sure the dogs had water available, and even treated them to some meaty tid bits towards the end of the evening. We will certainly be looking at booking in again next year. Went for dinner on a Monday night. Had the parmo deal. Food was delicious and incredibly value. Portion size was absolutely massive. Couldn't come close to finishing it despite arriving hungry! Really tasty though and a really evening out. Very service too. Many thanks! Revisited this pub earlier in the week, we came in March 2025, booked a table but it wasn't that even though it was a themed evening, Parmos on offer 2 small for £18, or 2 standard for £20, but didn't see any being consumed. We ordered exactly the same food has we did in March, boring I know but the quality is amazing, chicken with lerk snd bacon in s creamy Stilton sauce, chips, salad, and chicken in peppercorn and brandy sauce, new potatoes with butter, and seasonal vegetables. The standard of food is Michelin standard, the portions just right, I can't understand why the place was empty, pint of Doombar bitter, and excellent Chardonnay Lovely old tradition pub with a proper fire!! Stopped off on our way home from Whitby and both had Steak & Ale pie and chips. The pie was amazing, nice beefy steak and ale gravy under a flaky pastry crust. And big fat crispy homemade chips...perfect. We were served by a lovely polite young waitress, who came back halfway through our meal to check everything was OK. We hadn't booked a table, and it was but they were able to fit us in. They allow motorhomes over night and it's in a great area for walks. Dog in the bar area. We will definitely go back 😊👍 Lovely food, we have been a few times now on a Monday night when they do 2 parmos for £20 , they are excellent 👍 great Had 2 course meal £16.95 All homecooked food served piping hot. Proper chips. Highly recommend. I must compliant the landlords? Magnificent Mullet! Full and well kept! Spectacular! You wear it well. Very attentive staff. Food was clean and simply presented, quite nice to have this as it goes. Without wanting to sound pompous it was “honest” I think we caught it at a quiet time but still enjoyable for a quiet meal. We had the steak, from a price point it was up there, cooked to perfection however the cut of meat was not as anticipated. We will go again defiantly as easy in and out on way too and from Whitby, or if staying local. I will try a different dish though. The Food is so delicious. The Service very friendly. I hope i will come again in our next holiday Oh my the food was absolutely amazing. Proper food freshly made. The was so helpful and pleasant. I will be recommending this place to all my friends. The Diane sauce was expensive but to die for. I'd go back just for that. Of the five tables with customers, three had dogs - there are even dog selections included on the menu! So yes to dog friendly. when we arrived and short staffed (we were advised), asked if we were happy to wait 20mins - we were. It was only 10 minutes in the end. Worth waiting. Beautiful Cole slaw. Tons of parking spaces. Easy to miss the pub if not looking for it. The pub is nothing much to look at, bit tatty 8f anything but all we wanted was decent food - and we got it. Offered me container to put non-eaten food to take home. I had rump steak cooked to perfection , unusual as I like a blue steak and more often than not it comes overcooked, this was perfect if maybe a little tough but then rump can be, partner had large burger and it was very large. He ate it all and said it was good. It looked very to me. Will definitely return Whatever you do, don’t pass by this pub on a weekday lunchtime—unless it’s closed! Their winter hours mean they’re shut on Mondays and Tuesdays, so plan your visit accordingly. The service was excellent—warm and friendly—and the food? Wow. The fish and chips are unbeatable! We stopped in on our way from Whitley Bay to France, so it’ll be a while before we can return, which is a real shame. Great place for a Sunday roast dinner- has never disappointed over several visits Sunday lunch was excellent. A variety of vegetables. Lovely meat and Yorkshire Puddings and plenty of gravy. We were so full that we couldn’t eat any dessert. Staff were extremely and helpful. We will be back again soon and will definitely recommend it to friends. this place is really great food and lovely no faults at all Extremely poor service apart from an elderly waiter which was lovely. Haven’t been here in years, and dare say it will be many years before I return. Carvery’s were served to share, which didn’t make sense to those that payed for ‘go large’ opposed to those that ordered ‘regular’. My children didn’t eat at all and I had one chip off of my plate. We were a large group and was never made aware of the ‘no split bill’ policy. We were rudely made aware at the till upon paying.
