Small garden on the Piazza della Libertà, in front of the main train station. In the center of the garden, there is a statue of Empress Elisabeth of Austria. When I visited the garden, it was partly occupied by strangely-looking people, and it didn't look like a safe place. 1 | The in front of Trieste’s main train station leaves a very poor first impression, serving as a home for homeless people and shady individuals. 2 | The homeless were present both when we arrived and again a week later when we were leaving. Early in the morning, several people were still sleeping in the park, and the area was filled with trash. 3 | We didn’t feel safe in the and chose to walk around it instead. I recommend that solo female travelers avoid this area during the night or early morning hours. It’s a shame the city and local police haven’t addressed the issue, allowing it to harm Trieste’s reputation unnecessarily. Nice little square to relax in. Plenty of benches and some nice features. This is where all the homeless stay and sleep at night. It didn't feel unsafe necessarily as no one seemed violent but every square inch was used by a homeless person. Seems like they all had just been given one of those blankets that look like aluminium foil which painted a really wild picture. They have to go somewhere so I guess here instead of spread out all over town is better. But I'm reviewing the and for that it fails miserably I am sad to say this...but truly speaking: if you are a girl and you are by yourself, you better avoid the area, especially at night time. The is beautiful, but unfortunately neglected and dirty. It's full of people sitting on the floor, noise and other things... It's a big shame that it's not tidy, because it's very beautiful, on good location between beautiful buildings. Beautiful but lots of homeless feels uneasy Amazing place.Humanity should be named Dirty and scary place, unfortunately is better to avoid, police and city authorities apparently do nothing about ppl living there on the benches and doing some shady businesses. Is this how Trieste presents itself to visitors? Quite a climb up, but very nice to see Italy from up there. It looks more like Bangladesh than the center of Trieste, very sad 8am 0 Italians, only immigrants everyone avoids it Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
