We stopped by here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It was packed! We parked across the street in their parking lot. It was also full. We created our own space. I’m not sure where people park once the lot is full. It’s pretty dangerous crossing the street. There’s a lot of traffic. They need a crosswalk with a stop light. Once inside we were told that they were full, unless we wanted to sit at the bar. We took the bar seats. The bartender waited on us. He was super busy. I the fish and chips. I upgraded my to truffle. My husband the main seafood chowder. Both orders were very big. I couldn’t finish half of my fries. The fish was really good. The chowder was really good. The issue was that because they were so busy that we didn’t even have utensils once the food arrived. We asked someone for utensils and promptly got them. We asked someone else for salt and pepper. We asked someone else for a Guiness, but we never got it. We also had to ask for vinegar for the fish. So, there were a few issues with the service. I’m sure it was because it was so busy. But still a little inconvenient. The bill was about €40. I would go back again when the restaurant isn’t so busy. I hope they create a safer way for their customers to park. Great selection of menus at the Anglers Rest. I went with the Beef Ragu Rigatoni it is a well portioned dish with lovely tender beef in great flavours. As you can see from the pictures it lived up to its listing and was served very quickly. By very efficient professional staff. Most definitely value for money paid. The for the All Ireland Hurling Final was tense and excellent with many vantage points to view on various screens and tvs. The Angles rest has its own marquee and other outdoor dinning structures. That serve a very wide range of food. With outstanding views all around. Make sure to check the website for the most up-to-date menus and foods served. There is a link to the menus page. With its very large gardens grounds on the bend of the river lee it is very scenic it is also dog friendly. Even on such an overcast day the nature around stands out. If in Cork would highly checking this Pub bar restaurant just for the experience, it is also on the way to Blarney Castle if planning a trip there. Plenty of parking food staff, prices on the menu. A fantastic with catering for large groups . Great selection of menus at the Anglers Rest. I went with the Beef Ragu Rigatoni it is a well portioned dish with lovely tender beef in great flavours. A fantastic with catering for large groups . Had a lunch with our local guide Kieran. We had a parmesan truffle fries, shrimp sandwich special and a burger. I also a soup of the day (carrot) which was delish however the soup and sandwich were delivered simultaneously therefore the served with the sandwich were cold and not worth eating. Nuff said. The food was good. A lot greasier than I expected but that's a personal preference. A friend got the duck salad for mains but was given the starter instead, so double check what they took for the order! Unfortunate mistakes can be happen. What a wonderful experience. Pet is a welcome change and we are not even dog owners. Our server, Megan, was so attentive and an asset to the company. Our food was also delicious. We walked in and were accommodated on an already busy service. Well done Anglers Rest!!! We visited the restaurant on a sunny afternoon and it was lovely to sit outside. was helpful and nice, but nothing outstanding. As for the food, starters were and tasty but mains not so much. I got the catch of the day, which was the salmon, served with "roasted?" baby potatos (felt boiled), asparagus, and tomatoes. The fish was ok, but everything else on the side was barely edible. I couldn't eat the asparagus, and the potatoes were tasteless. My partner had the fish and which was ok, nothing special. I would only suggest it for the but not the food. We had an absolutely fantastic evening in this bar/restaurant. We loved the Irish Stew (soo good!) and my friend had her first Irish Coffee ☕️ here, which was also very good. My boyfriend a burger but unfortunately the tasted very dry and hard like cardboard as if they’ve been lying around for a long time and we’re not fresh anymore. Later, we some dessert (brownie and strawberry ice cream) and a pear cocktail. The brownie was amazing, the ice-cream ok but unfortunately I couldn’t finish the cocktail as it didn’t hit my taste. I would definitely come back to try their other items on the and hope won’t disappoint next time :) The is unreal - it’s a great place to stay long hours and to catch up with friends. Frequently eat there. Usually great but last time camembert starter was cold & hard. Probably would have been tasty if warm? Fish & lovely. Roast beef very nice. Brunches excellent & excellent for groups. Child brilliant as healthy not options Very fancy place and also pricey enough, but sooo worth it! The food here is so and the bathrooms are extremely well maintained and nice, great for parties and like reunion dinners or weddings. And the are amazing to interact with and so pleasant to talk to. Edit: second time here for breakfast, got pancakes and bacon, so good! And the were so towards us even when my brother knocked a glass by accident. Great team, thanks Stopped for lunch on a Monday. I the Philly Steak Cheese Sandwich (I didn't notice any mentioned but was fine with that). My partner the Buttermilk Chicken Burger with and slaw. Wow when mine arrived it was a very generous size, with lots of steak, onion and cheese on a lovely sourdough bun plus a large portion of real and side salad, all was delicious. The Buttermilk Chicken Burger with was also delicious, my partner would have preferred slaw as noted on the but in all honesty we couldn't fault it even with that little glitch. Lovely too. We will call again. Very and welcoming, excellent food and a great atmosphere. We had an event and were so helpful and accommodating. Really can't it enough. Outstanding as always. Delicious food, service. I it to everyone. Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch Roast beef was excellent tender and I was offered medium or well done. Children’s pizza was enjoyed. Chicken wings and were also very tasty. Rioja red wine was a lovely accompaniment. Beautiful setting also for children to run around safely while you eat outside under cover. Highly if in the area. Amazing food! Great service with a wonderful outdoor space to enjoy the weather. Highly recommend. I the roast beef dinner on a Sunday and it lived up to all expectations. Cooked exactly how it was ordered. Have visited twice here in a month, loved the walk in atmosphere, latest visit we had a little dog with us, the attention to detail for him was beyond cute! Love this place even more now 🥰 Open Prawn Sandwich , Pizza, & Foccicia Sandwich are all 😙 👌🏻 Had a fabulous brunches here. Stunning place and location. Looking forward to coming back again soon! The place is very beautiful and super to go with family and friends. I went for breakfast! I pancakes and a cappuccino but it was horrible! I think it might be better for dinner and breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. I drinking a beer more than eating. A very pleasant place! The restaurant is truly cozy and clean — you can immediately feel the care for the guests. The is polite and friendly, always smiling and ready to help. We especially enjoyed the option to sit by the river — the view is amazing, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious: everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. There’s even a kids’ menu, which is very convenient for families with children. We’ll definitely be coming back!
