Tipico esempio di Romana in Sicilia .. Roma capitale mundi Sono rimasti pochi resti ma impreziositi da splendidi sapientemente restaurati e ricollocati Merita la vidita Bella Fascinating to think that there was a massive temple with mosaic flooring of this quality over 2000 years ago. It’s small but cool and if you like history, it’s a stroll through. Roman were dusty and a bit dull but the explanation cards were excellent. View down valley to sea showed why location was in use for nearly 2000 years. €8 entrance fee in cash was steep for a few mosaics, but hopefully it went to the Archeological dig which is still going on. Nice and tiny with some boards with information and some well preserved. It was an old roman Villa, and in 19th century a farm was built on top. They tried to sell the in the black market, but luckily police caught them. The entrance costs 6€, but we pay 9€ for 2 tickets... Don't know why but it was nice. You can park right at the door. We came first Saturday of November and it was free. The visit will last 10 to 15 mins. But it's it. It's not a big site but it's an incredible step back into history and the entry is cheap If you are in the area, pop in. I am looking to go back when the excavation will be completed. The are impressive, good quality as the del Casale. Amazing high quality mosaics, some really special moments. Quite small and I felt like they needed a bit of love. An excellent way to spend 30 mins Really well maintained ancient Roman with beautiful mosaics. A little too pricey though What a great find very much by accident while driving from marzamemi to siracusa! Definitely the stop, amazing similar to Piazza Armerina but of course a much smaller residence - nonetheless they have been very well preserved and have great detail (and the bonus is you don't have to hike all the way to piazza armerina to see them if you are limited with time). Disponibile un parcheggio nell'area antistante la villa, il biglietto d'ingresso è di 6€ It was free on the National Holiday, very small museum. Great but nothing compared to the other one off course, don't go out of your way to visit and only when in the area Wonderful mosaic, very well presented. With very friendly staff. Not the detour according to my opinion. And 6 euro for entrance for such a small exhibition might not be it. If you really enjoy history and archaeology you might enjoy it. This is not as extensive as the Romana Casale but a number of are really great work of art and seeing. And it's more relaxed than Casale. Bellissimi mosaici. Small place, Parking close, no need to walk long distance, for whom it is important. This museum is a joke. Beautiful , but personnel don't update page about conservation works. So we came from Catania for nothing! a visit jf you are staying in the area or passing through. A small site but still worthwhile seeing. Piccolo sito.
