We had a lovely time here for 4 nights in the bell tent in a bit of a rainy July. The hosts and family are very hospitable and welcoming, and the atmosphere with the other guests was pleasant and respectable as you’d like. There is a small shop on site and a village shop 5 mins drive away. The toilets were always clean and the showers were hot and high pressure which was very welcome! There is a great playground for the kids and multiple destinations within a short drive for day trips. We particularly like Dunster Castle. The bell tent came with a solar powered battery pack which was a great touch for Charing phones etc. Thanks for the stay and the understanding! We stayed for 2 nights in a bell tent and overall the experience, but not extremely sure on how the bell tents are cleaned. When we checked in I had the impression that the bedding is clean even though it didn't seem iron, thus giving a bit they feeling it might have been used, but thought it's my imagination. The following day, I found a glass quite dirty which raised more questions marks - even though it is a note that everybody has to wash the cutlery and dishes, U would expect before someone new checks in to be checked and washed accordingly. The toilettes are quite clean and well maintained and the location is nice as well as peaceful. We had our dog with us a Beagle and I was very happy to know there is a field where I could let her go play without a leash as it was supposed to be safe especially that she is a 9 months puppy, so not yet fully trained to recall - it was a mistake as I ended up trying to catch her as she escaped through the closed gate of the dog field as the fence wasn't in good shape. She is a very calm puppy, but I was afraid of losing her. I didn't stay, but I did fish & they were a lovely set of well stocked lakes. The pegs were excellently maintained & the toilets spotless. I hope to return in November. Beautiful place ,enjoyed by all, everyone caught 🐟 happy days. Although I am a member of camping and caravanning club, we found this excellent site by accident whilst driving. I'm not a fisherman but I am sure that it would be great for those that are. We came with 7m MHome £26 a night hardstanding with electric. Lots of rain when we found site, had to drive over grass to get to hardstanding. However thanks to the mesh fitted under top layer of grass there were no issues driving on the grass that led to our hardstanding pitch. All of the team went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Toilet and shower facilities: There are 8 individual units containing combined (unisex) toilet and shower facilities. There is a honesty box shop with all the basics including fresh locally produced honey at £5 a pot, supplied by the owner of the site. This place is honestly amazing! I’ve been quite a few times up to a couple of years back, but myself and some old friends decided to come and fish for a couple of nights recently. Gareth and Jennifer clearly have an outstanding knowledge of their waters and an obvious passion for what they do. They were super friendly and there to offer advice on fishing spots/tactics. Shame I didn’t catch, but that’s just the way it goes. A couple of my friends did manage to have a few out (which obviously totally didn’t bother me… 😂). Probably one of best course fishing lake I've been too, every time I go down there I catch. Some lovely fish in the lake. The fish are well looked after, not a scratch on them. Really friendly owners and always help out if need be. They got a lovely carp and catch fish lakes too. Stayed here for 3 nights in a pod, and my partner done some fishing, the staff are friendly and welcoming! Very clean environment, toilets and showers are spotless! Will definitely be returning!
