I can't rate the rooms as I stayed elsewhere BUT the food at The Lion was incredible! Took my best friend there for her birthday and the staff pulled it out of the bag with dessert with a candle in it and the whole restaurant sang her happy birthday will be back next year when we return. Fantastic pub, food and terrific service. 36 people successfully served and not a single grumble! Super tasty and good portions. Everybody could not speak highly enough of the experience. Booked online as visiting the area. 4 of us and our dog. Really pub with lots of beams and character! Watch out though if 6ft tall 😂 Welcoming bar, dining areas and terrace to enjoy the summer sun! Had a fantastic lunch after a long drive with service too. Stopped in 2 rooms which were both very nice, well appointed and nicely decorated! After exploring the area returned to have a evening meal, very reasonably priced drinks and service! Already planning to return on our next trip to the area! Very well recommended! We had dinner at this pub and found the welcome, service and atmosphere absolutely delightful. Food was jolly good too, and the dog-welcome great. An excellent evening. Stayed last night booked by my daughter and what a place. Didn't have an evening meal but we had bar snacks, which I think is a idea. Staff were lovely, especially the lady on duty this morning for breakfast. Would definitely recommend 👌 pub in a setting with wonderful staff. Had a cider battered fish and chips which was well tasty and fairly priced. Staff were and super helpful choosing drinks and had a selection of local stuff too which is nice. Thanks for a meal! The Lion Hotel in West Pennard is a place to stay. The staff were accommodating, friendly and welcoming. They cater for dietary needs, and the food is good with generous portions. It is within a short drive of the Sacred sites within the area, and has plenty of car parking. Very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place and would stay here again. Enjoyed the quiet friendly atmosphere. Good location for Glastonbury and Wells. Will return. Went here for a meal,chips,fish,and peas well peas were nice, looked like fish had been cooked before all hard batter and very little fish. Chips hard but eat two. Partner had fish on salad not very well cooked salad soaked heavily with oil.Not pleased only paid for her meal. Never went back. night ruined.
