A generic chain pub, lacking real ale (Doom Bar only, plus lager, John Smiths, gin, cocktails, etc) and offering typical fare, including jerk chicken skewers, various nacho flavours, fish and chips, mixed grill. Experience was elevated by a server, Jacqui, who arranged a bowl of while waiting, even though they were short staffed. Free parking and easy access. I went here last night with my daughter but won't be going back. Never waited so long for food! My daughter said it should be good with the it took. We both had fish, and peas. The were disgusting I only ate one. My daughter ate most of hers because she was so hungry. I hardly touched mine so my daughter asked for a refund which she got. Me and my wife came here first today as someone bought us one of the sizzling gift cards and this was closest to our house. Wasn't expecting much omg the steak and chicken was so juicy!! And what a bargain! We will be back! too. Thursday day night, just left the establishment. How rude is the manager. The first thing he says is ' there is a 45 minute wait. I asked' can you explain why. The pub is virtually empty. God knows how they would cope if it ever gets busy. Apparently, he tells everyone the same. Making it easy on himself and the incompetence of the kitchen. Blame who you want. But I blame the management. Awful. I went next door, no attitude from the staff. Pub by the name of The Nags Head a lot more people in here by the way Food was 10 min, if that. Excellent staff. Good chef What you need to learn from your neighbours. Get new staff. This place is fantastic. It’s really homely, and friendly, and the food and is excellent. food and by Rachel. My son loved his Mac and cheese. Thank you 😊 Popped in early evening for a pup tea, and it’s probably one of the worst meals we have ever ate ,we ordered a sharing combo and scampi and chips. The scampi and were edible but The sharing combo was deep fried within an inch of it’s life in what looked like dirty oil and everything had the same taste , and the dips, the salsa the sweet chili and the garlic mayo had been heated up in roasting hot little plastic pots so the mayonnaise was like hot milk and the other 2 dips were boiling hot ,( they had probably been frozen and that’s how they were defrosting them) it Was absolutely disgusting and would never eat here again asked the bar for 2 side plates to share our food which never came, also asked the to change the dips which they did without questioning what was wrong with them , but the food was absolutely foul. It reminded me of deep fried old frozen food from a freezer but cooked in dirty oil, We tried to eat it because we were hungry, but left most and went home and cooked something. We would’ve explained to the if they had bothered to come over to the table to take our plates away How disappointed we were with the food, but nobody bothered to come over so we just walked out. Started eating here after receiving a 40% voucher off main meals. Have to say I was seriously surprised at how fantastic the food was and the hospitality. Highly recommend the grapes . We've been there 3 times this week . Regulars at the grapes, especially Robyn. Always helpful and happy to adapt the menu for a fussy child. Hoping for a beer garden revamp for the summer as the benches are really uncomfortable. Loved seeing my local as the backdrop for ‘This city is ours’ :-) Saturday afternoon table of 6, ordered 2 adult mains, children’s meal deal and the mix and match plates, and desserts, food was and hot, the was great, would highly recommended. Food was great, very staff. I’m very pleased with the I was given and the for food was fast. Excellent food cooked by Ree. We had Giant gyros between two and it was delicious. Just one comment. There could have been a bit more chicken gyros. It got a bit lost in the vegetables, the fries and the salad. But very nice.👍 food best pub steak I’ve ever had, presented well and plenty of it . Wife had gammon and said it was very good. Very busy Wednesday dinner so I’d suggest booking a table just in case as the place can fill up very quickly . were lovely, very rushed off of their feet, definitely need more of them as it seems to be getting busier here with the new houses in the area Stopped in for a meal Friday night after moving in close by and was seriously impressed. The pork tomahawk was spot on – really juicy and full of flavour, with a nice crispy edge. You could tell it was cooked with care. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. Good portions, staff, and a nice laid-back vibe. Couldn’t ask for more. Already looking forward to the next visit! Food was amazing and the lady who served was so nice and Amazing waitress Robin, gave service. Food was and wait not bad. However wait times at the bar way too long with only one person serving. 🍹🍸😊 After visiting a No of times been told food was not available, thought the server until 9. Last they said we need to book a table. Sat and had a few a drinks and 3 tables close to us had reservations on them for 7.30. We left the pub at 8.30 to go and eat elsewhere and these tables were still empty. Don’t they realise people just book incase. Understanding this happening during Covid, but think 1st there 1st served. Thank you for the we received, food, nice and hot- big table of 14 of us- all came out at the same time! Perfect! Thank you to Ree and the team at the Grapes! Had a ! We had a party of 12 for sons birthday. From start to finish we had a time. Food was excellent, hot and served with a smile.
