We were once here with friends for a jazz concert and really liked it. The is newly renovated and looks very neat and pleasant, and is located in the basement of a gorgeous Viennese-style palace. and musicians were great and so were the public attending. Had a great time here in this old, tunnel-shaped cellar. Entry and drinks prices quite reasonable. Great free-jazz with Gilad Hekselman trio when we were there. Once in a while you find a venue run as a labor of love. Jazzclub Tonne is such a place. And it shows. Great people doing great work in the service of art. If Dresden itself wasn't reason enough to go to Dresden, this elegant stone temple to the art of would be. Absolutely beautiful space and great music. Sadly there is no cloakroom and my sunglasses were stolen from my jacket pocket. I wish the coat hanging area was safer. A lovely nook tucked under everything. Has a great vibe, showcasing interesting music. Otherworldly experience, the Jacob Karlzon Trio managed to jump the queue from your ears directly into the bloodstream. Due to the small number of attendees (maybe 50++???) It almost felt like a private concert. Great jazz concerts, we listened to a trio with excellent piano, bass and drums. Don't miss the opportunity of listening to brilliant here. Gamze Attended Luca Stricagnoli's gig on Nov 4, 2017. Very good acoustics. Sometimes ventilation is not sufficient, super hot inside. Long line to the bar. We wanted to listen to some jazz on Saturday. When we entered the club, there was no sign that the is closed due to event. We entered the hall, noticed that maybe there’s a special event and a really rude man told us literally to “go away”. We were shocked, went outside and he followed us. I said “we had no clue the is closed, you don’t need to talk like that” and he continued to talk to us rudely while smoking. That’s really inappropriate. It was our first time and there was no info on the website. P.S. to answer the comment below, then please change the info on Google maps. It stated the was open. Moreover, we surely were at the same building, there was a huge sign stating “Jazz Tonne”. For first-time visitors, if you have a couple of different places at the same building, it’s absolutely not clear.
