Total chaos, everybody knows when the ships come to port, there's never a surprise. Just think, 4000 passengers to be relocated from the docks to elsewhere, by, tour buses, yep, 60 passengers each bus with their baggage in toe, attempting to get elsewhere, Nope, the couldn't care about their customers, zero assistance after leaving the gang plank. They made us feel like this was a rip off. We prearranged for a rental car in Revenna, yet to pick it up, it took a bus ride to the train station, then to our surprise, dozens of passengers from other busses were waiting for a taxi. NOPE, no taxis, no joke, we waited 45 minutes no taxi, so we called for an Uber to get us to the rental company. There are no shuttle service, and the town's people appear to be aggravated their community is over run by strangers. SO, we paid $25 for the 20 minute bus ride, then another $40 for the Uber, total transfer time two hours forty five minutes. We're glad it wasn't raining or ninety degrees. Not much going for it really, unless you own one of the thousands of yachts moored in the marina or want to watch some pretty hefty ships going up & down the waterway. Has got a cheap ferry across the water €1 each way. Boarded from Venice Marco Polo Airport, with an included transfer via coach to this port...and it is just that a not a terminal...it's set up with a tent to embark the ship. It's quite a small area with a few vessels moored, but RCL being the only in on the day made for an easier boarding process without the chaos. In the end this became a headache for some Italian guests, because at the end of the we couldn't disembark, (the had to dock in Triste instead)...because of flooding and water levels being too high. So be mindful if arriving with your own personal vehicle, as you'll need to make alternate arrangements to retrieve it Definitely use the ships transfers to get here, or depart. Nice terminal, open pier with covered tented areas. Checking in process was reasonable, but limited sun shades. Roads are narrow to get to the pier but bus managed ok. The Ravenna is located in a rural area, so there’s not much around it. However, the itself is very well-organized, making the boarding process smooth and quick. Since it’s a bit of a drive, I chose to stay in Bologna, which made it easier to reach the on the day of departure. I boarded a Royal Caribbean here, and while the experience was smooth, it's important to plan ahead. The has basic facilities, but don’t expect much in terms of dining or shopping options nearby. If you have time, explore Ravenna’s historic sites, like the stunning Byzantine mosaics, which are worth a visit. Overall, it’s a functional port, but proper planning is essential to ensure a smooth departure from here. Enjoy your cruise! Far away from anywhere, diverted here instead of Venice, long coach ride if you want to get to Venice. We ended up staying on ship. Interesting fishing huts on stilts. The transfer from Venice took just over two hours. We had pre-booked a van with a private driver through a company called WazUp, and the experience was excellent. We also used them for the return trip from the to the Venice (VCE) airport. It turned out to be much more affordable than booking through the line. equipment is very poor compared with others. You have to pull all your languages from your car till the entrance, which is quite far a way. Road quality is bad. There's no any building there, only a big tent where the check-in is. But people are nice.
