So I must have hit a bad day. Asked for agua sin gas Then had to ask for a glass as I don't drink out of a bottle at my age! The glass was dirty! Water warm! Then had to ask for ice. Had to pay for it immediately which, as a local, I've never had to do before. Must be a criminal element here who don't pay and walk off!! Not a good experience. Authentic, nice vibes. Finally we got the patatas bravas how we love them 😍. The personnel was incredibly nice. If the salad had more goat cheese it would be 5 stars. Amazing food and service. Tapas as well. Will deliberately come back to that part of Spain to spend night in that town and it in this place. I can only review as a road cyclist who has arrived at this excellent bar having ridden a steep 5km climb to reach the village of Canar. On arrival this bar is a welcome haven. I've only had tapas, and the Tortilla Espanol is to die for!! Welcoming, friendly is all a weary cyclist can ask for, and I'm sure it gets even better for a longer stay. Very nice and friendly service,clean throughout restaurant.The food was beautiful fine for a kings table.Try there wine 🍷 made by them .I forgot to take photos of the desserts,to die for.Homemade cheesecake and a grandmother special.Followed by a good espresso coffee. Gracias, I spent nearly a whole day hanging outside this bar. It's one of only two such places in Cañar. The guy who was working inside was super nice and very patient with my limited Spanish. Coffee was lovely, the scenery outside of a beautiful Andalusian village even lovelier. Very patient and quick to serve you. The beer is delicious and the tapas come very fast! I asked for vegan options and the lady at the bar kindly made me something suitable for me and asked if my friend can eat meat etc. They accept card too. Wonderful place with relaxing outdoor dining with good food and an outstanding view. We had some beers which came with some nice tapas of egg and potato omelet on bread with olives. We started with a cold gazpacho-like tomato soup which was somehow both deliciously garlic-y and refreshing. My wife had the pork loin and chips and I had the Alpujarra plate. All of it was delicious. They have an English menu and the woman who served us was very patient and kind with my limited Spanish. We’d love to go back!
