Really breakfast and a nice little shop. Sausage and bacon very tasty. The decor is superb too! Will return. I'm not local but frequently visit my parents who are. Samuel's has quickly become a family favourite from the packs of burgers etc to the joints and non butchery items. My mum is also pleased with the addition of the cheese's. I really have to say the is top quality and the service always excellent. Visiting on father's Day 30 mins before closing I wanted a beef joint for 3. The lad behind the server vanished into the chiller and returned with a beautiful piece of topside asking if that would work. Cooked medium the flavour was fabulous helped only with salt pepper and mustard. After a rest even my mum tried the pink meat. This is my second visit in the last month and the steaks I had previously was also delicious (as was mum's pasty) If you've never tried Samuel's give it a go you won't regret it. Visited on a pork pie recommendation. Ate Cornish pasty and sausage roll for lunch, environment. Bought Frank's and Samuels pork pies, will update you later. Lovely environment. geordiies on tour This tops most ,the is properly looked after well hung beef ,tender pork etc and the best bit not as expensive as most shops and the staff really friendly and chatty This little gem is hidden from the main road but well worth the visit. A great choice of products and sized cuts of - even the bacon is sliced nice and thick, the complete opposite of supermarket meats. The beef joints are always tender and lean with just the right amount of fat left on, no need to trim it yourself. Sausages and bacon from here are perfect for a fry-up or as part of a meal. Or they sell a range of pre-prepared meats that only need to be cooked, like a huge chicken fillet with bacon and stuffing, or a sausage ring with msunroom, black pudding and all sorts. Beef patties are great on the BBQ and never go dry in the middle, and no gristle bits ever, only cuts of go into the burgers which is obvious fro the first bite. The cafe has a nice little tea room or outdoor seating for anyone wanting a proper traditional Tea & Cakes in the countryside. Prices are very reasonable and you get what you pay for, unlike others where you pay for water-inflated which shrinks when cooked. Staff are always friendly and chatty, if you have a question they're happy to help or if you can't see what you want they can usually get it. (One day I went for burgers but they had ran out, I was told there would be more the next day and there was) Overall very happy buying from Samuel's and stopped going to old old butchers. Ed was amazing helping us select all the meats for our bbq's. This is our second visit in a week, and all the local reared produce is off the scale.... delicious Nice selection of meats and deli items had the home made bouginion and it wasn't seasoned properly tasted awful not the right taste for that dish it was a shame as I have only had really things from there so must of been a mixing issue. Everything else was fab We stopped here en route to our holiday destination, it is a great come restaurant. We had the light bite menu which had sufficient choice for lunch. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. I would recommend booking a table for anytime after midday as it is very popular. Simply the best butchers in the a very highly contested area. We buy a ribeye steak which is second to none. Superb bacon and beautiful beef and pork. All served by extremely friendly and attentive staff. First class It is a terrific shop; we had breakfast there, it was fantastic; the food and service were brilliant. I highly recommend it; thank you Samuels and cafe never disappoints. With the additional Brothers in Arms restaurant and bar now built you really now do have something for everyone. Yesterday we enjoyed a quick bite in the cafe, the Cornish pasty was tasty (made on site). Staff are always so warm and welcoming. Recently tried the burgers in the restaurant and they were amazing, a hearty meal for sure. Been going here years and will continue to return. Love it. (Pics of the burger, bar area and enjoying a coffee by the fire) Always a fantastic breakfast at Samuel’s!! Venue is lovely, friendly staff and the has a large choice! I was a bit disappointed to be honest. Basically the service was very slow, we were booked in for afternoon tea and to be honest my opinion is, you need to know how to make a cup of tea, it is an essential part of the experience. There were five of us that requested de- cafe tea, which was fine, and the teapot was huge, plenty to serve five. Unfortunately it was almost just hot water!, We noticed that there were only two teabags in the pot. Ridiculous! As anyone who knows how to make tea, knows that it is one teabag per person and one for the pot. I was amazed that this was not the case, as afternoon tea has been around for a long time, it is not new. When we asked for more teabags we were given one! It was as I said , disappointing. The food I cannot fault, maybe less cake and more tea! In the season where everyone is talking about turkeys, don’t forget Samuels beef is undoubtedly the best in the area by far. We have just enjoyed a delicious piece of roast sirloin with all the trimmings, absolutely the best way to end the weekend. We have, of course got our free range turkey on order for Christmas Day. Thank you Ben and team for the excellent and service you continue to give us! Merry Christmas one and all. 🎄⭐️ Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
