Have just returned from my hen party at Essex Stays at The Kings Head and we had the most weekend! The house was incredible, spotless and had everything we could ever imagine needing! The kitchen was so well stocked with utensil, crockery & cutlery and having 2 dishwashers is genius! Our bathrooms had such luxurious goodies left for us and the showers were divine! We all commented on how good the water pressure was even when all showers were being used 😂 The booking process was so easy, and the service we received from the was second to none! We loved our trip so much that we're trying to find a reason to book up and come back next year! What an at the Kings Head. We had a hen for 15 people and everyone was amazed as soon as they walked in. The hot tub, garden and Karaoke were an absolute hit. The fairly lights by the dinner table added to the atmosphere, and the place is a lot more spacious than you may think from the pictures. Also the kitchen is so well equipped (it was a dream!) We also had a private dining experience with Chef Lee which was divine. Thanks Lee for putting up with our jokes and cooking us such a delicious meal. Emma, James and Laura were throughout answering questions as they came up. The service was exceptional, highly and can’t wait to come back! We had the most Hen party at Essex Stays. The is just incredible with outstanding facilities. The went above and beyond to ensure that the was perfect. Lauren was always quick to respond to emails and responding to any queries I had. I was blown away with how spotless the was when we arrived. The bedrooms were very well presented, with slippers and a robe for each guest. The karaoke room, cocktail bar and the hot tub made this extra special. We also added on the private chef and the butler in the buff to make this even more special, these services were both outstanding. I highly recommended Essex Stays and would give them 5 plus stars. They go above and beyond. Thank you for the best filled with memories to treasure. WOW! What an we had for our wedding weekend! The house was absolutely incredible, we were all left speechless. It is probably the most well equipped place I have ever stayed in, with everything you could ever need. Lauren and the were so helpful and communicative in the lead up and during our stay. Everything was just perfect! Could not this place enough and we cannot wait to return! Just been for a lovely celebrating my friends 40th birthday. Garden is lovely with a massive hot tub loads of seating. Karaoke went down a storm - this was a place for a celebration. Also must say the facilities were five star and the place was spotlessly clean. Nice people to deal with. this place highly for large or small groups. We all loved it! Attended a Hen here and it was amazing. The facilities from the Jacuzzi to the karaoke room. It was the for us all to get together and just enjoy each others company without having to head out to bars etc. Lovely and clean rooms. I stayed here the before and the of my wedding with my bridesmaids and family. We had an time!! The house is absolutely STUNNING! The set up for some quality time with my bridesmaids followed by a Karaoke session or two! The vanity was for getting ready and the hairstylist and make up artists were in awe of the space, chairs, mirrors and lighting. The bridal suite was 😍😍😍 Everything was perfect! Lauren was so kind and allowed me to store some bits and bobs for the wedding from a couple of days before which was sooo helpful and one less thing I had to worry about. A bottle of Prosecco was also gifted which was a lovely touch 🥂 Me and the girls are already planning our next stay❤️ Stayed here the before and of my best fiends wedding. I recently celebrated my 40th birthday at The King’s Head with 13 of my closest friends, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. From the moment we arrived, the felt like our own private haven—welcoming, stylish, and thoughtfully laid out to cater for a group who wanted both comfort and fun. We loved cooking up a feast in the well-equipped kitchen—everything felt effortless, and sharing meals together added to the laughter and memories. The spa bath and hot tub were absolute highlights, giving us space to unwind and soak in the celebrations. And when the sun dipped, the karaoke took centre stage—let’s just say our rendition of classics won’t be forgotten any time soon! The behind The King’s Head clearly know how to create an atmosphere that feels both indulgent and intimate. It was a full of laughter, music, and genuine joy. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to mark this milestone, and I’d this to anyone wanting to make their own celebration unforgettable. If you’re thinking of booking this place - DO IT!! Communication with the was 10/10 from the moment we enquired, absolutely no stone left unturned, making planning my sisters hen an absolute dream. The itself is stunning, plenty of space for a large group to hang out together, but lots of little areas to chill out if you need separate spaces too. We had a small group wind down with a film while others carried on with Karaoke - just for when you’ve got a diverse group of people to please. The rooms are lovely, super comfy and every amenity has been thought of and covered. Guests commented on how well equipped the rooms and bathrooms were. The hot tub is huge and immaculately clean, absolutely wonderful for the morning after before checking out. We also booked the chef package and had the Zoe’s Kitchen attend and serve dinner and drinks for the evening. They were absolutely fantastic, so attentive. The menu was for all guests and they even left our leftovers in fridge for later. Truly the most special experience for my sister’s hen, could not Essex Stays enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We booked last minute for a family away. Ages ranging from 10 to 82! Clean and comfortable and well designed and laid out. Everything you could possibly need is provided. There is a lot of space to spread out and relax. We loved the hot tub and pod, and used the bbq on the first night. We ate in a local pub a 10 min walk away and also spent a couple of hours walking along the river. We had a lot of fun in the karaoke too! Great communication from hosts. Would definitely visit again! We had a great two with 16 people on the first and 22 on the second. The had everything we would possibly ask for and the host were extremely accommodating! I would definitely recommend, we stayed for a wedding near Chelmsford and it was a great place for us all to stay. Easy access to shops and local pubs too! What an incredible we had at Essex Stays, I booked the to host my best friends Hen and it did not disappoint! The hosts Emma and Lauren were so helpful and friendly, I asked a lot of questions and nothing was ever a problem, they were always so happy to help and made the whole thing stress free. The was everyone absolutely loved it, it was spotlessly clean, the beds were very comfortable, toiletries were also very thoughtful and came in handy. The girls made great use of slippers and gowns as the went on and our feet were tired from all the dancing! The Karaoke room, Bar, Hot tub were great as were all the facilities. Communication from the owners was spot on, the is done up to perfection from decor, down to entertainment. sleeps 14 comfortably, there was 16 of use so two where on pull out beds in the vanity room.
