Such a shame, lovely lay out and members super but bunkers either Astro over or with weird imported sand and issues on all like playing on an old American football pitch, not worth £50 in current IMO. Whilst Crondon might be a slightly higher greenfee compared to others around it, the layout, challenge and excellent course make it worth every penny and it’s only going to get better with the obvious high financial investment that is currently taking place. We played the course mid August 2025, Crondon currently has works being carried out all over the course, but non of which will impact your round and all the greenstaff were courteous and moved aside for us to play through if they were in our way at all. They are improving the course in all areas and they have greenstaff working very hard all over the course from and watering systems, to reconstructing all the bunkers and filling them which a high grade of sand which makes hitting out them a pleasure unlike so many courses which have no sand a rock hard bottom that just bounces the club. Whilst so many courses in Essex are almost completely brown, bald of grass and dead, Crondon has lovely green greens, the are lightly brown in some places but much much better than most, it was a real pleasure to play on and we will definitely be back soon! I highly recommend playing here and enjoying a fabulous course in condition. I used Crondon Park for my Senior Captain's Away Day. Hannah was very helpful in helping me set up the day for the players. Thank you. We all found the course a challenge, especially the par three holes. The general opinion was a course, that we would like to come back to in two or three years time, when all the work on the course is complete. The staff in the Pro shop and Club house were excellent, where nothing was too much trouble to help us on the day. We enjoyed a meal, which was substantial and well cooked and served by the excellent staff. Again thank you for making the day go so well. Robert Golding. Can't recommend this club higher, from the first contact in the pro shop, where we received a warm welcome and detailed information about the course before our round. The complimentary bottles of water was a nice touch and needed on a warm day. Course itself was in compared to some I have played recently and the were fast and true. Although I played terribly and found almost every water hazard, enjoyed every moment and would happily return another time. Post round, the service and food at Pizza On The Green was both reasonably priced and tasty. Cannot fault this venue and the only thing that would prevent me from considering membership is the travelling distance. Crondon Park Club. A highly recommended Club for all Golfers, it’s challenging, fun and vast! All the Staff are and all the golfers are polite and friendly. Highly Recommended. Lee. A There had been no decent rainfall in weeks when I played the course so the were very firm but, despite no irrigation system, still had grass coverage and definition. I thought the were excellent and consistent around the course. I was informed ahead of booking that some maintenance had recently been carried out and that bunker maintenance was ongoing. There was a lack of grass where new had been installed but these were relatively thin lines on the fairway and moving your ball a few inches gave sufficient relief. Some bunkers are in the process of being either grassed or refurbished. When this process is complete the course will be better for the work. None of the above is overly intrusive when you play the course and I would happily play the course again in the near future. Now to the golf. The course has a layout which provides a test for any golfer. 5 par 3’s, 5 par 5’s and 8 par 4’s that will reward good, accurate shots. 3 of the par 3’s are over water. Water is also in play on a number of the other and will punish wayward shots. You may need to put some extra balls in the bag if you’re having a bad day. The only downside for me was that if you play the course in the afternoon there is a chance the clubhouse might be closed or closing when you come off of the course so no talking about the with your playing partners over a post game pint and sandwich. That does not detract from the actual course and there are pubs within a short drive of the club if it is an important aspect for you. I played a round of at Crondon Park this week and thoroughly enjoyed the course. It had plenty of challenges and the large investment on the bunkers and is going to pay dividends in the very near future. Will definitely be returning for another round soon and potentially will be looking to become a member. facilities and should be a course when all work complete. Some.wonderful looking holes. Need more staff in the bar, poor young girl doing a job, but literally running.around to keep.people happy. Pizza patio brilliant. Lots of greens, & bunkers with major work going on. I look forward to playing when all the work is complete will be great, maybe price at present should reflect current condition. We recently hosted a charity day at Crondon Park Club, and it truly exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless and enjoyable—thanks in no small part to the incredible support from Hannah. She went above and beyond to help set everything up and was on hand throughout the day to assist with anything we needed. Her professionalism and attitude made the whole process so much easier. The course itself was in fantastic and offered the perfect balance of challenge and enjoyment for all of our players. Everyone had a time out on the greens, and we received so many compliments on the stunning scenery and layout. To top it all off, Crondon Park generously allowed us to use their beautiful wedding venue for our evening event. It was the perfect setting to round off the day, providing a warm and elegant atmosphere for our guests to relax, socialise, and celebrate the success of the fundraiser. A huge thank you to the entire team at Crondon Park, especially Hannah for helping us host such a memorable and meaningful day. We’re already looking forward to next year! I arrange fixtures for Blackmore Golfing Society, we had 31 players yesterday, the day was very enjoyable, Hannah made booking simple and Lou and the team looked after us very well, we had a full English breakfast which was wonderful and generous and after our round a two course meal which was very enjoyable, congratulations to the catering team. The course was very challenging especially the which take a bit of getting to know! We will defiantly return in the not too distant future. Many thanks. As a visiting fourball, my group received a greeting in the pro shop. The course itself is maturing nicely with an excellent layout and some interesting holes. The were very and fast, slightly dry but this was due to the time of year and the dry spell. Again, the course itself was in very for the time of year. Overall, we had a very positive and enjoyable experience and we will definitely be back. Excellent but very challenging course. Everyone we met was very and clearly a lot of money is being spent on improving the on the course. Would definitely return again as it is one the best courses we have visited locally. Our first trip to Crondon was a pleasure. A welcome from the shop and the marshal. Winter tees were in operation but that didn’t detract. There was a slight lack of signage around the course but I assumed that was in the process of being reinstated after the major works that had been completed over the winter. The were fast and a straight putt was a rarity. The course overall was in shape. I’m looking forward to my next visit. Crondon Park was recommended to me by a friend who had played there. The course has a lay out with lots of varied both in terms of being long and short. The were in poor however we recognise this is due to the ongoing hot weather and clearly won’t last forever. Much maintenance work being undertaken Greens were excellent We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will look to return once the course has had the benefit of some water Great day overall I visit this course a few times each year, most recently 2 weeks ago. always enjoy it. Some tricky holes, love the as they are always in all year round and very undulating which makes putting a challenge. were good, currently doing maintenance on the course to improve it, but it did not affect the round. Staff were very as well as the members, which doesn’t always happen at other courses. It is one of the better courses in Essex and it is well worth a visit. I had heard a lot of things about this course and how pristine it all was with some very tricky and long in particular the 18th but having just played this i can’t believe how bad the whole course is at the moment. We was on a society day and the cost for 18 on the championship course plus a bacon roll was not cheap and yet no one warned us of the terrible everywhere was in!! There was road rollers, diggers, dumpers all over the course with groundworkers working until gone 5o’clock on a Saturday afternoon basically moving soil, digging up cart paths and cable trenches. On one hole there was 3 machines actually part obstructing the fairway and any stray balls could easily have hit one of them as there were no barriers and we had no alternative but to lift our trolleys up a high kerb just to reach a tee box. ! The whole course it seems is having extensive works carried out to new cart paths and channels/ trenches but the contractors have so far only laid what basically amounts to builders rubble containing bricks, broken glass, broken mirrors, plastic bottles, old plastic items like cable ties etc and we were tasked with walking on most of these with our trolleys, at one point i turned my ankle on a half brick where none of this unclean hardcore had even been compacted very well. Apart from this, the look to have been hollowtined maybe a couple of weeks before and were not cut and were very slow and bobbly and in a shocking condition. The were like meadow grass and were not well defined at all and as for the tee boxes there were no bins for broken tees or rubbish and these were all over the tee off areas with worm casts developing to both tee box and greens.the bunkers were also pretty much a work in progress with many in G.U.R due to the terrible they had been left in and new was being installed all over the course with new ditches to the sides of the fairway that you couldnt even step over to look for a ball!. I am not the best golfer in the world by far however, i was left shocked at the whole experience and will not be going back any time soon. Really really dissatisfied and dissapointed with what was meant to be an enjoyable afternoons golf. The pizza on The green was probably the only highlight of what was a back breaking, knee grinding jaunt across basically a building site of a course. Given two stars just for the bar/ marquee alone.
