I booked my of Pompeii with an Archeologist through Get Your Guide, the process was smooth and easy with clear instructions on where to meet. I would very much a with an Archeologist, we got so much information about the daily lives/helping us visualize the layout/how the homes and shops would have worked. It was great! Our guide, I apologize I thought I wrote his name down but I can't find it but I added a photo of him, was great. He made sure not to go too fast, he spoke well and made sure everyone understood him and gave time for questions. Thank you! Having a archeologist us through Herculaneum and Pompeii was the best way to experience these once buried ruins. His explanations and insight were above and beyond any written descriptions or map content. A day well spent when you're in the Rome/Naples area. Taking a led by a archaeologist was absolutely the right decision. Francesca did an excellent job of introducing us to pompeii. She made the come alive and in 2 equipped us with valuable information that helped us in the 3.5 we stayed exploring on our own after the tour. Thoroughly this which we thought was value. Tutto ben organizzato e istruzioni chiare e semplici. La nostra guida archeologa Teresa è stata bravissima !!! We took a day to Pompeii and Herculaneum from Naples, and it was excellent. Everything ran on time, and communication before the was clear and well organized. Our guide, Diego, was outstanding. He was extremely and enthusiastic, and he made the both engaging and informative. We learned a deal about the history, and his explanations really brought the sites to life. We would definitely Askos tour. We had a wonderful of Herculaneum with Nicolette (better than Pompeii!), lots of interesting information and stories along the way and sharing her own archaeological insights and knowledge. She tried to make sure we saw as much as we could in the 2 and was so keen to ensure we enjoyed the tour. Even my husband who usually isn’t that interested in history really enjoyed it!!! Grazie!! We took our family of six on the Herculaneum yesterday. A group of ages ranging from 12 to 50+ and had a with Raphaela who was very friendly and knowledgeable. Herculaneum was not too packed and enjoyable to around. Come in the morning to avoid the hottest parts of the day. Bellissima escursione a Pompei e Ercolano: gruppo ristretto, guida molto preparata e disponibile e nonostante un ritardo consistente nella partenza i tempi si sono rivelati più che sufficienti. Askos was very responsive to communications, and even a last minute change. The private 3 hour guided was such a choice for us. Our guide, Theresa, was wonderful. She knew where all the lesser known points of interest were, explained how to read the (ex. How to tell what type of store or house), and told us a lot of really interesting information. Honestly, 3 hardly seemed enough! I would definitely book again; this was well worth the price. Our was full of knowledge that he almost couldn't talk fast enough He had drawing that showed what areas might have looked like before Aug 79AD. Our guide, Luciano was also very funny. He pointed out the laundry, the menu for a wine bar and was very passionate about being respectful to the structures. We learned a lot. Giovanni, un gran guía para una visita de mucho nivel cultural. A recomendar sin duda. Absolutely fantastic tour! Our was incredibly and brought Pompeii’s history to life with engaging stories and fascinating details. She was also warm and friendly, making everyone feel welcome and engaged throughout the experience. After the tour, she even gave us recommendations for things to see and do in the area, which made the rest of our visit even more memorable. Highly this to anyone visiting Pompeii! Veramente interessante. La guida è stata coinvolgente e ricca di informazioni. Unica pecca forse il prezzo poco meno di €50 pp che, rispetto ad altri siti sembra essere un poco alto . Our family of 4 (2 adults & 2 teenagers) thoroughly enjoyed the Askos organised guided led by Michele (Mike). He was incredibly of Herculaneum and despite the heat, this was a highlight of our trip! Highly recommend. Mr Leone was amazing, he provided us with an insightful tour, as he is an archaeologist. He was thorough, going through different eras and ensuring we had an understanding of the site & details. I would highly a tour. 2 of historical insight, a most enjoyable day. Couldn't wish for more! We took the 2-hour Pompeii Guided with Archaeologist on 26 December. Our Iolanda was extremely and provided an excellent an insight into how the city worked, its lifestyles, buildings and activities. Thank you Iolanda - your very helpful, efficient introduction made it easy and enjoyable to explore the site on our own. This is absolutely the way to visit Pompeii and Herculaneum if you can. Sergio was an awesome guide. He brought the events of 79AD to life, explaining the eruption’s impact on the landscape and the people. He also brought Pompeii to life and helped us understand the daily life of the inhabitants at the time. Francesco, our driver, was also fantastic. He arrived early, was very flexible and the thing we are very grateful to him for was taking us to a local restaurant where we had the best pizza of our lives!! Askos was great! They picked us up from Sorrento and offered to drop us with our luggage in Naples for our flight that night at no extra charge. We really appreciated their excellent customer service! The was perfectly organized and timed very well to get a good impression of Pompeii and Herculaneum. We must especially highlight the excellent Raphael. Not only did he lead very professionally and share his expertise on the places, he was able to answer all of our questions about history and archaeology. At the same time, he introduced the group to the Italian lifestyle and spiced up the with a very good touch of humor. It was very entertaining and a lot of fun. Clearly recommended to get a good insight into these impressive places. Our Mario was exceptional. Very and we loved learning about the history of the volcano, Naples, Pompeii and surrounding areas from him. Our geologist on top of the volcano was also. Both guides made this trip so worthwhile. Can highly recommend. Most certainly worth the climb to the rim and the views are spectacular. My best day in Italy. ❤️ Excellente visite avec Suzie, elle est passionnée par Herculanum et nous a transporté dans l’Antiquité avec des anecdotes à la fois historiques et drôles ce qui nous a permis de bien imaginer la vie quotidienne de cette colonie. I would definitely a guided tour! Paolo was our incredible guide! He was so and gave us a memorable of the ruins. We enjoyed touring with the group and then on our own when the was over. The history was so fascinating! Seeing the cats who roam the was an unexpected surprise especially to my cat loving wife! 1000/10! Ottimo con archeologi molto preparati. Puntuali e ben organizzati sanno spiegare molti dettagli e particolari difficilmente reperibili sui libri. Molto consigliato. Our guide, Alessandra, with being 3 year post PhD in archaeology as a guide, was wonderful. She was very interesting, informative, sense of humour and kept the explanations simple and understandable. Her phrase “use your imagination” and then provide descriptions was very cleaver. It was evident she had a passion for what she was doing. The reason I only gave this 4 stars is because I resented having to download yet another one off app to get the tickets we reserved. We have been traveling for over 3 months and I did not need this specific app just for our time in Naples. We booked our Pompeii and Herculaneum trip through Askos Tours using the GetMyGuide app. Taking the high-speed train from Rome to Naples was so easy (we have friends who made the same trip but took a bus and it took four instead of one hour to get home). Our Michele (pronounced Michael) is in fact an archaeologist and was profoundly about everything we were seeing. Compared to those wandering around aimlessly with hand-held audio guides, we had an day visiting these two incredible sites. Yes, it’s a long day of (and dead people) but it was fascinating and Michele was personable, informative, helpful, warm, friendly and provided us a day we’ll remember for a very long time. Thank you Michele! Travel arrangements and communication all excellent. Meeting place and times clear and efficient. Tour Michael was and hugely knowledgeable. Herculaneum is but we would have liked a bit longer at Pompeii as it is so much bigger. It is a long day and taking in a huge amount of information but very worthwhile. My wife and I took part in the archaeologist-led Herculaneum small group on Monday 17th March and we couldn't it more highly. Our guide, Michele Maria Lamberti, was a fount of information, having worked as an archaeologist at Herculaneum for many years (including mapping the underground sewage system). The was two long and he spoke for the whole duration giving a comprehensive to the ruins, challenging the group with questions and answering our questions with authority and experience. Herculaneum itself is amazing. We saw it before we saw Pompeii and I would doing the two sites in that order. Herculaneum's buildings are a bit better preserved and it's much smaller size is easier to get your head around than Pompeii. 2 is a good duration for a guided visit to Herculaneum whereas 2 barely scratches the surface of Pompeii. Fabulous tour. Can't it highly enough. Even better if you are lucky enough to get Michele Maria Lamberti as your guide. I had chosen the small group Vesuvius based on reviews I could see and Mario (and Luigi and Asko Tours too) did not disappoint! The day was beautiful and sights were even with the slight haze. Mario provided so much general information on the history of Vesuvius and other volcanos in area. The hike up is a trail, sometimes a little steep, but gravel can be slippery. Mario warned us all so we were prepared, but worth wearing good shoes and being careful. They made the experience very enjoyable and easy - well worth not trying to navigate the drive self, get into ques, etc! Yolanda was a wonderful guide. Even though we got lost and were late, she helped us arrive and gave us a full friendly and tour. We left feeling enriched with intimate knowledge of Pompei. To get the most of your visit I highly Yolanda. Excellent of Pompei and Herculaneum. Smallish group around 20 people so can easily hear and speak to the guide, who was extremely and passionate about the sites. Earpieces are given so you can use those as well. Taken by coach to Herculaneum which is about 20 minute drive and you have to find your way back from there, the train station is about a mile away, that would be my only criticism. Take a hat and comfortable shoes - it's a long hot day !! We booked the 3 hour Askos of Pompeii. Our local Alexia was outstanding. She was so informative, knowledgeable, funny and genuine. She gave us insight into the lives, city and the archaeological process of Pompeii. There is so much to see, three does not touch it. You can discover on our own after the tour. This is a must when visiting Pompeii. Outstanding! We took the trip to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius on October 10th, 2025, and it was an experience. Our first stop was Pompeii, where our led us through the streets of the ancient city. The guided lasted about an hour and a half, after which we had another hour and a half to explore Pompeii on our own. Then, the minibus took us near Mount Vesuvius. There, our second guide, Mario, showed us the path to the top of the volcano. The view was absolutely breathtaking! Mario was a true professional and very patient as we waited for my mother, who had recently undergone knee surgery. Thanks to his help, we managed to reach the top slowly but surely. He truly made it one of the greatest experiences we’ve ever had. We booked a on Sunday, October 26 for Pompeii and Herculenium. It was definitely a highlight of our trip. Our guide, Amadeus was so and excited showing us the ruins. He had a degree in Archeology and knew so many details and interesting facts- it was mesmerizing! Loved all the people on our as well- lots of fun conversations. Think I liked Herculenium even better than Pompeii! Luciano was an -- he was entertaining, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable. We loved that he had books of photos and illustrations to help us picture what Herculaneum would have looked like in ancient days. He also has a depth of knowledge about the excavation progress in recent years, which added to the ancient historical knowledge. It's hard to imagine having a with more knowledge of an ancient site. We would him to others, but with the warning that his accent is heavy enough with English that it was at times hard for some in our U.S.-based group to discern what he was saying. As the went on, it got better (perhaps as we became more familiar with his inflection). My criticisms are about a few other things unrelated to the itself: first of all less than 24 before the tour, we got a whatsapp message saying that the was delayed from 10:30 am to 11:30 am with no option to say that wouldn't work (we were planning to go to Mt. Vesuvius after and so it would have prevented us from doing that). Then, a few later the message saying the time was changed was deleted. I was confused about what that meant. I tried contacting the staff and didn't get a reply until the next morning when they informed me that (duh) of course the was still happening at 10:30 am ("that is why we deleted the message"). It would have been useful for them to include a nevermind instead of just deleting the message and leaving us to wonder what was actually going to happen. When we arrived to check in for our it was a little confusing about where to meet in the park and the woman who made sure we all had tickets was rude and very unhelpful. Overall, loved the tour, the management of the itself was a bit shaky. Serena Bertolino è stata una guidata molto preparata e ha resa la visita interessante e stimolante anche per i nostri figli Visita guidata ad Ercolano. Eduardo molto preparato e gentile.
