Porto di Pozzuoli

Naples, Italy Marina

Porto di Pozzuoli is a useful port for reaching the islands of Ischia and Procida, offering a taste of local life and history. Be prepared for potential navigational challenges and factor in extra time for parking and embarkation. If booking ferry tickets online, factor in a potential extra tax upon arrival. The Medmar ferry (hydrofoil) is faster than Caremar. Be aware of ground-lifting activity affecting the marina's water level. "The most convenient place to get to Ischia and Procida (recommend!) don't take your car to Procida! It's too narrow." "It is better organized, cleaner, and less chaotic than many ports..." "Finding the ticket counter for the ferry was not simple... very unintuitive for visitors. No signage about it either." "Restaurants are superb, fish is the main at the port bug pastasnd pizza are also available" "Rustic and well-functioning harbour. You can see local fishermen coming in from the daily job..." Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Rustic and well-functioning harbour. You can see local fishermen coming in from the daily job and selling some of the catch to the cars queueing into the ferries. Nearby amenities provide the beer or whatever one might be after for. The ferries have usually some refreshments for sale, with steepeish prices, though. It is better organized, cleaner, and less chaotic than many ports, but it still takes a while to park and get through the embarking area. There are many restaurants, bars and coffee shops within walking distance. Avoid the ones that are right across from the ships because those are tourist traps. Walk away 5 minutes, and you'll find great options. There are a lot of cute shops. Enjoy your shopping experience 👌 Pozzouli is a beautiful part of the major city of Naples. Historically Pozzouli was a major city in its own right. Two Thousand years ago Roman Emporers used this area as their holiday retreat bringing their daily entourage in vast numbers. Now Pozzouli is predominantly a fishing port with ferries running to Iscia. The Restaurants are superb, fish is the main at the port bug pastasnd pizza are also available Took the train from Naples it's the last stop and well worth the day trip. Friendly people calm atmosphere really enjoyed my day Just went there for the oddity of seeing the results of the ground lifting activity related to the increasing pressure of the supervolcano beneath. As you can see on the picture, the old marina almost doesn't have water anymore, boat ramps don't even touch water. The ground lifted about 13 feet within the last decades. Another activity to consider, although not exceptional is to walk the trail of monte Nuevo, the most recent volcanic structure resulting from the eruption in the 1500's. Other than that I don't see anyone would visit this village. I think the mare= sindaco should wake up and walk arround, very dirty, would be a nice place. Since.money comes - PNRR - people doing nothing. So pozzuoli can be a nice place... Finding the ticket counter for the ferry was not simple. There are 2 ferries, the Caremar and Medmar. The latter runs faster ferries (hydrofoil). Once you approach the port from the city side, the Caremar ticket office comes first; they don't sell Medmar tickets. The Medmar tickets office is almost 200 metres away - very unintuitive for visitors. No signage about it either. People are friendly, they help you in navigating. Just keep walking along the shops from Caremar ticket office, you will reach Medmar ticketing. I took the ferry to Ishcia (€14), runs every 3 hrs; takes almost 1 hr to reach. The ship was huge, several floors with space for cars in the bottom. Ample seating, indoors and outdoors in the sun. The most convenient place to get to Ischia and Procida (recommend!) don't take your car to Procida! It's too narrow. In Pozzuoli a lot of restaurants, good gelato. Nicely organized with a lot of parking to leave the car. Here you can get the boat to Procida or Ischia, but pay attention, if you booked the ticket online, you must do the check in in one of the closest white buildings and pay an extra tax of 3.5 euros per person to enter those islands. Cool. Everything is fine, well organised, had a snack before the trip in a bar while were waiting in a line of the cars for the boarding The girl on the phone will make your life difficult so you don't go to that port. We're a 22m boat, and she didn't want to help us. It's all problems.
