Shame there aren't newer planes. Most of the have been repainted. This was such a brilliant place to visit! We were really impressed by the number and range of on display. 12lv for a family ticket was very reasonable considering the quality of the exhibits. It's just outside Plovdiv airport - an easy trip from the centre. The crown jewel of the Plovdiv of Aviation undoubtedly lies in its remarkable exhibit—the "Soyuz-33" descent capsule. This iconic piece of history alone is worth the visit. However, the offers so much more. With a diverse collection of aircraft and artifacts, it provides a comprehensive journey through aviation history. From vintage to “cutting-edge” technology, each exhibit showcases the evolution of flight. The museum's informative displays and interactive features captivate visitors of all ages, making it a must-see attraction in Plovdiv. With its stellar exhibits and immersive experience, the Plovdiv of Aviation earns a well-deserved five-star rating. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The displays Soviet-era planes, helicopters, missiles, and radar systems, with the engines still attached. But the most intriguing exhibit, in my opinion, is the Soyuz space capsule. Interesting open air museum, worth seeing. Especially cool that you can go into the cockpit of a helicopter for an additional fee of 4 Leva. There is a real landing capsule of a space rocket Inside the building. However, the lady working there chased my husband away because he sat on one of the two chars inside. She stated that these two seats are reserved only for people who are signing their book, those with kids, or tired elderly. Altough there was no one else there to use them, she asked him to get up. I was really surprised how good this is. Would totally recommend it. Amazing experience, some really cool really enjoyed looking around Great to visit. Many articles and interesting fact sheets. The place is great! Many historical and helicopters that took part in 2WW. You can even enter a cabin Surprisingly well maintained from the Soviet era. Highly recommended! One advice: google want to use a closed road, so stop following google. Instead of try to reach Plovdiv airport and you will see the signs of the museum. The Aviation is a fantastic place with an impressive collection of aircraft, many of which have flown for the Bulgarian Air Force. A highlight is the Soyuz module that took Georgi Ivanov to space – it’s not every day you get to see and even touch something that’s been outside Earth! Kids always have a great time here. Just a note, there isn’t a card payment option for tickets, but there’s an ATM about 100 meters from the entrance." Awesome exhibition, more that we have expected, that are in brilliant condition. Highly recommend! Fantastic with everything translated into English Took two three year old boys who were very happy to see up close. It's an outdoor mostly with lots of previous Bulgarian airforce inventory - soviet equipment. Interesting place to visit for anyone wanting to see Warsaw pact era and helicopters, but also there's a small inside which contains a capsule from soviet space missions (which had Bulgarian participation), and some displays of the early air force (one of the first, if not the first in the world, to drop bombs during a war). Also, at the end, a military serviceman gave us a balloon over the fence, so that was nice. Good place to spend an hour and a half.
