OH MY GOD. When I decided a year ago to take our bucket list to Africa I interviewed three different travel agents. Thank goodness I went with Jo Ainscough at Aardvark Safaris because the vacation she arranged was akin to a fairy tale. Jo worked with our budget and gave us amazing options which far exceeded our expectations during our trip. Travel between Zambia, Madagascar and Uganda would have been a logistical nightmare had I attempted it myself. Jo pulled it off seamlessly, even when the airlines made last minute flight changes. If that weren’t enough to qualify Jo for sainthood, she was the recipient of a middle of the night phone call from yours truly during a minor glitch while traveling (which she promptly straightened out). I could go on and on about her never ending patience, expertise and attention to detail but I will just say if you want the most jaw dropping experience that will leave you breathless, go with Jo at Aardvark Safaris. A million thanks Jo, you are truly the best!!! We thank, from the bottom or our hearts, Aardvark Safaris and Robyn enough for planning our unforgettable journey through Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda (gorilla trekking). Our two-and-a-half-week adventure in mid-February exceeded every expectation. A great time of year to go if you want to see baby animals. From VIP airport greetings to the incredible guides who filled our hearts and minds with a deep love for Africa and all its wonders, every detail was thoughtfully arranged. The camps were stunning—set amidst breathtaking landscapes where elephants and giraffes were frequent visitors. The food was truly exceptional—some of the best we've ever had on any vacation. One of us is vegetarian, and thanks to Robyn’s attention to detail, it was a vegetarian’s dream come true. We’ve included a few photos to share just a glimpse of the magic. Our travel agent at Aardvark, Emily, was so informed and fun to work with - and her attention to detail was so impressive. If there's one thing I hate, it's wondering whether a person will follow through with their promises - trust me when I say that Emily never needed a reminder nor a correction. Very impressed with her professionalism. We spent 5 nights in Cape Town, 9 nights on a mobile in Botswana, then 4 nights in Victoria Falls. The Adventure - The true highlight was our time in the Okavango Delta, where we enjoyed an exceptional riding holiday with African Horseback Safaris at Macatoo Camp. - We are sincerely grateful to Aardvark Safaris for their unwavering support and for making our holiday truly remarkable. I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for Francis organizing such a wonderful for my family of five this past summer. Our journey from Kenya, through Zambia, and into South Africa was incredibly efficient and enjoyable. I was particularly impressed with how well-prepared we were for every eventuality. Even when an inevitable flight delay occurred, the proactive assistance with the necessary resources ensured we smoothly made our connection. The itinerary distributed to all the individual vendors was exceptionally thorough; they consistently knew our schedule better than we did. While the was an investment, it was absolutely worth it, and I would gladly do it all again. From start to finish our South African Riding was an absolute dream. The team at Aardvark Safaris were super professional. Lucinda provided an extensive selection of safaris from all over the African continent to choose from, and was always proactive and inciteful during the entire planning process. Their travel app was incredible, with our entire loaded (including all personally booked flight information) so that all of our details were in one place and easily accessible. Lucinda was in regular contact up to our departure date to make sure that we were organised and comfortable before embarking on our adventure . . . and what an adventure it was!!! We arrived at Wait A Little camp in South Africa and were welcomed by Phillip and Gerty (the owners) and their army of super-friendly staff. A quick freshen up after being shown to our extremely smart lodges before getting our boots on and heading out for our first of the weeks rides. The horses were beautifully turned-out daily, and there are animals for all abilities that we were matched-to after trying two or three different horses - a system that is tried and teated and worked well. Our awesome guide Jo led us to some incredible sightings and his knowledge and humour really made our trip! It’s true what they say - it’s the people that make any holiday, and on this occasion there was never a truer word spoken. Jo’s charismatic and warm personality, coupled with his understanding of our group dynamic, made for the most special of adventures. The camp volunteers who aided him were the perfect balance of informal and firm when required and we felt entirely safe and well-protected wherever we went. The mixture of smart home lodges, a night of camping under the stars by the fire, and then the most luxurious two-nights at Xidulu Camp made for the most perfect itinerary. This, coupled by wonderful food courtesy of the charming Anna, and Phillip and Gertys hospitality really made you feel at home from the second you arrived, and left you with a feeling of sadness when you finally had to leave. Our experience really was a of a lifetime. New friends made from all over the world, incredible times spent with friends, and memories to cherish for ever. Thank you Aardvark and Wait A Little . . . Jo and the Aardvark team were an absolute pleasure from start to finish. Super attentive in listening to what our ideal plans were and surpassed all expectations at every step of the trip, thanks to their knowledge and first hand experience. Regardless of industry, it was some of the best service I have ever received. Starting at Rhulani lodge in Madikwe - a dream come true. Beautiful accommodation, surrounded by animals, the perfect destination for safari. Mind blowing game drives with our brilliant guide ‘Honest’ has left all of us with memories for a life time. Our girls are 8 & 10 and could not have been more excited each and every day! Very hard to top that and then we landed in paradise……Mauritius! A great way to end the and so glad I listened to Jo steering us to stay at Paradis. An unbelievable hotel in an idyllic setting, cannot wait to go back. Thank you all so much.
