An excellent place to take your dog, especially if the dog is good off lead. Mine had a fabulous time rooting through the undergrowth. There is a hard surfaced path so you don't need wellies and other tracks that you can wander around more within the woods. This was a lovely oasis of birdsong. Conveniently placed benches to sit and take in the beautiful surroundings. Lots of gentle paths, some a bit muddy, that wound around the area. Lots of great habitat for birds and other animals. A haze of bluebells, and flutter of butterflies. It was lovely. Brilliant place for walking the dog, playing hide and seek with the grandchildren and having picnics, together with blackberry picking (in season of course). Parking can sometimes be a bit tight, depending on the time of day you go. At the weekends it can get very busy. Really nice place to go for a walk, the moderate path can be very muddy if it's rained recently! But the easy isn't too bad & you can do it twice if you want to so more! Only downside is the parking is very small! And there is no one where really else close by to park! Apart from that really nice! Lovely little nature reserve! It can be quite muddy/boggy in places due to the beautifully tall pine trees blocking out a lot of natural sunlight on the ground. Neverless, kids and your dogs will love it! Lovely woodland go for dog walking and great for kids. There are many trails and walkways and it's quite a large area, not much parking available but the parking is free This is a wonderful wood. Went today and the first thing we noticed was that the poo bin was full up and overflowing onto the ground.we took the first path on the right as you enter and there was poo everywhere, all over the path. We cut our short. Not happy about this at all. Nice woods and a good sized walk, very popular with dog-walkers. Small car park can get busy and there are no overflow options when full. No amenities (eg toilets/picnic tables/coffee shops) - that may be a plus or minus depending on your point of view! A locals spot rather than a tourist attraction I'd say. A really beautiful woodland. Even more interestelimg if you know the story about the ancient trees, coppicing and bats! Beautiful walk! I try to go every year while the bluebells are out. Would be a lovely place for families if it wasn't for the lazy dog owners not cleaning up the mess. I've never seen a woods with so much poo, definitely not safe for toddlers with an interest in picking up sticks. Beautiful and the bluebells were just gorgeous. Just what we needed to re-set mind space, feed the soul and senses 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
