Coombe Caravan Park
Salisbury, United Kingdom RV park
One of the Best Places To Visits in Wilton Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. The best campground we have stayed at in the UK so far (8 weeks of travel). Friendly staff, immaculate toilets and showers, a fully equipped camp kitchen, a comprehensive site shop, and tourist information centre, and daily fresh bread and pastries. Simply the best AVOID, WAS TURNT AWAY EVEN HAVING CONFIRMATION. Young family with 4 small children under 12. Very ignorant staff. I emailed a week before our journey, made a booking and confirmed if my vehicle (ford transit lwb) Was okay. They replied "as long as your van/minibus isn't sign written your vehicle sounds fine". We made the journey from surrey. , towing our caravan. They then went back on there word and denied our booking at the camp site barrier. We was told to try somwhere else due to our towing vehicle, i showed them the email but they was not interested. The towing vehicle is not sign written, and has seats in the back. very judgemental and i feel it had nothing to do with the vehicle.... We used summerlands caravan park salisbury instead, They welcomed us with open arms and at such short notice! We then got to see stone henge thanks to summerlands caravan park only 10mins drive. This is a lovely caravan site with modern very clean facilities and even a well equipped common room where campers can cook and make their own coffee and relax watching TV! Right next door to Salisbury racecourse too. Strongly recommended! Definitely one of the best, most well thought out campsite we have stayed at in the UK. All pitches level with established hedging & well placed trees. We were in a motorhome but ideal for tents as fridges available as well as spacious clean room for dining. Bathrooms spotless & plenty of hot water. We cycled into Salisbury & to Wilton House. A most enjoyable four days. Thank you Arrived. Hosts very friendly and welcoming nothing was a problem. Showers, laundry room all immaculately clean. Site spotless all grass areas and hedges cut. Only down side was we couldn’t connect our hose to the tap to fill our water. But would definitely recommend this site it was a lovely stop over. Thank you. 🙏 Amazingly clean facilities & a very friendly welcome. Great pitches fantastic sunset in a December 25. Thank you for a our peaceful stay. No full timers (vanlife), no working from the van, no signal. I was meant to stay 3 days. I was woken by a large petrol lawnmower being used to collect fallen leaves. Not just the "thick" of the leaves. After 2.5 hrs I couldn't take the noise. So enquired how long it would last. I explained that I work from the van. I had stated this on 2 occasions the day before. I had discussed my starlink with the owner and said that i work from the van. It wasnt raised as an issue. The owner was very rude. i was told I wasn't allowed to work from my van. That its written on their licence and customers are expected to obtain a copy of the licence from the council to know the rules before staying at a campsite. I stayed on hundreds of sites and this was by far the noisest. I've stayed on quieter industrial estates so I left two days early. What a lovely place. Grounds are incredibly clean and well kept and the views are wonderful. The facilities are immaculate and the showers are lovely. There is an onsite kitchen and communal dining room which is a lovely touch and it has its very own coffee machine which was very welcome. Fresh bread baked on site and a well stocked shop. I must say we had a wonderful stay and it was so quiet and peaceful. We certainly will be back again. I wish I had read the reviews before booking. The man working was disgustingly rude and seems to hate people, which is unusual considering he has chosen to work in hospitality. Our family was turned away for having a small/medium van that we use as our car. I hope that they receive some training and appreciate their customers more in the future- for now AVOID. There are far more welcoming campsites close by- ones that actually want customers and understand that not all vans are ‘commercial vehicles’.
