We stopped off here briefly on our way from West Sussex to north Devon. We only really wanted tea and coffee. On the Saturday morning we visited the place was quite busy but we still found a table for 4 persons, then I joined the longish queue to order our drinks. I was temped by the delicious looking cakes and snacks but I was put off by the cost of everything. Having placed our order we then waited for a young man to bring our tea over to us. The toilets here are modest in size but clean. All good. First class food and very helpful and friendly . Fully recommend to anyone looking for a top breakfast with all the trimmings. Not for the first time we visited Wilton Centre nor the cafe/restaurant but this time it hit everything you expect from a well run eatery and centre. We entered the restaurant first and was greeted by a very pleasant lady who guided us politely and professionally to a table of our choice and with a series of well written menus that covered an expansive list of selections, we made our choice in a pleasant, clean, and tidy environment. Ordering was simple and made again to a most pleasant person who made it very clear what the process was for taking the order, payment and delivery to our table (remember your number before joining the queue). The serving brought and served our meal in an extremely professional manner and to be fair was one of the best lunches we have had even though it was at a higher price than others we have used it was value for money. Leaving was hard as all of it was really pleasant but products was the main reason for the visit and even though some of the areas were empty (time of year) there was plenty to view and purchase including wild bird food (which was on our list). This is one of the better centres to visit with a polite and knowledgeable that are only too pleased to help you and I cannot recommend it enough. Fantastic. Went Sunday 23 November 25 lunchtime. Arrived at 1220 it was packed out and que for food and 35 min wait for food. I had potato & chorizo mash was tastey, my wife had breakfast bruschetta, over toasted and crust was un eatable os so hard. Grandchildren we ordered a jam sandwich @ £1.95, ONE slice of bread very over priced. You can see from photos how packed it was. So noisy and long waits. Lovely place. Felt very posh. To be in the queue waiting to order and have a member of watch me and then walk past me and look me up and down. Yes, I have tattoos. Yes, I was probably the youngest person there, but I was there with my mother. Felt uncomfortable. Lovely food. Clean and tidy. Toilets available. Lovely centre overall. We had lunch in the cafe, which was busy but a very nice setting. Food was and nicely presented. variety of plants, and large shop of gifty stuff! Beautiful centre with a fantastic restaurant boasting with a huge selection of delicious food and great coffee! Lovely and seem to cope well with the weekend rush. We look forward to returning back to make more purchases for our with a visit to the restaurant of course. Highly recommended indeed. Considering the amount a covers they were serving on Sunday lunchtime, the food was very tasty and the service was brilliant. Roast parsnips were fabulous, peas were a little hard for my liking but all things considered it was an excellent meal. They cater for groups as there was a birthday party going on in one area. Lovely food service, just a little pricey, but about market norm. Like sheep we all have to pay it. However, a very nice place to visit also has plants got in excellent condition and a very shop to look around. Well worth a visit Recommended Great place if you have coeliac disease. were very swichted on with regard to gluten and cross contamination, kitchen was aware that their pickle was made with malt vinegar and informed us. Nice ploughmans with chips. Big and nice warm dining area on a cold winters day. If you are a dog owner there are tables specifically for you and your pooch. Came here for lunch in the summer and had some great food! Bombay aloo scotch egg was so nice! The range of foods on the menu are just really good. The weren't the happiest but we did go mid afternoon so they may have just been tired. Really selection of cakes and patisseries and our selections tasted as yummy and light as they looked. Nice food, nice deco, kind service. The salmon fish cooked prefect. I can feel here also is an amazing venue for wedding. Only had coffee and selection of cakes but was lovely. Food on everyone's plates looked amazing. Saw a seating area inside, especially for people with pups. Garden centre was lovely to walk around. Had 2 cappuccinos, shared a plate of 4 small cakes, cost £10.95. Tasty food and lovely staff! Only concerns are I would love more halloumi on the eggs cypriot and the coffee could do with an upgrade - my flat white looked a little bubbly!! Paid £27.40 for two small chips, a beef pasty, some water, and a bacon, cheese & tomato toastie — and honestly, I wish I hadn’t bothered. The toastie had one single piece of bacon, barely any cheese, and was completely underwhelming. The chips tasted like they’d been sitting on a warmer all day — soft and stale. For the price, I expected something fresh and decent, but this was just poor value all round. Definitely not somewhere I’d go back to. Went here for Mother’s Day for cake and tea. The only dairy free cake (also happened to be gluten free) option was so cold in the middle it was still mostly frozen. I said this to a member of who brought us our drinks and she told us “it’s meant to be served chilled” which is total rubbish as the cakes sit on the side at room temperature under domes. She brought a second slice which was still frozen at one end. After this second one she did offer a refund but by this point my toddler was having a melt down about missing out on cake so I just wanted to get out as quickly as possible. Disappointed!
