Came Sunday lunch, booking definitely recommended. Menu is not the whole menus on website as they focus on roasts. Food was good. Service was excellent, drinks were good. Would definitely come back Apparently it's a c14th coaching inn. Beautiful. It was a on a sunny day. We had drinks and soaked up the sun. Gorgeous. After a session at The South Wilts Ski Club we stopped in here for a recovery drink and it was a great shout. Excellent choice of beers – the Proper Job was spot on. We didn’t eat this time, but the food (especially the fish & chips) looked fantastic. local pub with a cracking atmosphere, we’ll definitely be back to try the food. Absolute 5 star pub. The Land lady runs this place perfectly. Very and welcoming, relaxing quiet pub with open fire. Great food menu with the normal stuff but also flat breads and pastas, and got the impression alot of it was home made. Food was tasty and well priced. Pub is located just off the main road so made for a stop over. Dog and campervan friendly. Thankyou, wouldn't hesitate to visit again. I stopped here for and a few pints as I had permission to stay overnight in my motorhome. On entering, I was greeted by the smiling landlady. The inn has a nice and locals. Everything very clean. I ordered the "Forrest chicken". I have to say, It was very hot on arrival and very, very tasty. Perfect portions. After I asked for a cheese board, they certainly don't stint with the cheese or the selection of biscuits. You will not be leaving here hungry. I have saved this inn to my favourites. I highly recommend. The pub sits alongside the road and has a car park around the back, the church is to the other side of the pub, it's a looking building nestled in a quite village. The hostess/bar lady was fantastic, making all visitors very welcome and had a great sense of humour. What was very nice was she checked for any dietary requirements and if vegan/vegetarian too, which is important to some. The fireplace is and warm on a winters night and the and internal look is very quaint and almost like stepping back in time, in a way. Very relaxed and a cosy feel, which is very welcome. The food was certainly varied and very quality/standard, also prices weren't exorbitant which was very pleasing. Overall a great pub, lots of and a very warm welcome awaits you, what more could you ask for. We'll be back for sure, hope you try it too. We then thought it would be rude not to have dessert and since they all sounded yummy we couldn’t decide and ordered the “ dessert platter” that was delicious and has to be the best dessert idea I have seen. They even offered for us to spend the evening in their parking lot in our caravan. 700 years of excellence. The Cornish / London stop over. Landlord was a gentleman. British pub with a British pub feel and perfectly kept ales and service. We understand hospitality after running our own pub and understand how difficult kit is to stand out. The food was simple fresh pub fair. Our only thoughts where that with everything else that the pub had right the food felt a little bit plonked on the plate, lacked attention to presentation. And for the money wasn’t particularly memorable. Chef this is meant as a constructive opinion. We would visit again next time we are in the area. A pit stop off the A303 felt like a long way away from the main road but super easy to get too. Very reasonable prices too. Thank you for a lunch! We stopped here on route to family in the South West. Fantastic food, incredibly service, they were so accommodating of our chaotic 19 month old and really went above and beyond to make life easier for us. The Bell Inn in Wylye is the midway stop off point when driving from London to Exeter. The traditional stone pub is situated just minutes off the A303, and very easy to access, with a small carpark at the rear. The welcome from the landlady was warm and friendly, and the food was delicious, with a range of meat and veggie dishes on the menu. We could have lingered in the cosy bar if we weren’t heading onwards to Devon. After lunch, we had a quick stroll around the pretty Wylye village and its Grade II listed church to stretch our legs, before continuing on our journey. Definitely worth putting a pin on the map for future trips to the South West. Really tasty roast dinner - could have been hotter to be honest - but nice nonetheless. Great selection of ales and puds too. ok - could do with proper open fire for the true country pub vibe. Attentive service, really friendly. Stopped off here for whilst passing through. Staff were beyond and couldn’t do enough for you. Even had a separate vegetarian menu which my partner was very impressed with.
