My visit to Morado Bar & Dinner in Plovdiv was a truly delightful experience. I started my meal with the Bulgarian clear chicken soup, which left a lasting impression. The portion was substantial, served hot, and exquisitely seasoned. It was a comforting and flavorsome choice, making for a light yet satisfying dinner. For my main course, I opted for the mixed bruschetta, a trio featuring mozzarella, prosciutto, and salmon. Each bruschetta had its unique and delightful twist, offering a diverse range of flavors. The lounge bar's setting was truly wonderful, providing a picturesque backdrop for an exceptional dining experience. Morado Bar & Dinner not only impressed with its delectable food but also offered a scenic and serene musical atmosphere. It's a perfect choice for anyone looking to combine great cuisine with a stunning view in Plovdiv. Great location, but looks like it's not maintained properly. Service is not great. Overall, the restaurant in Center Plovdiv, Bulgaria, boasts a stunning location overlooking the lake in the park. However, the dining was marred by below-average food quality and notably slow service. Despite the waitress's effort to manage a high volume of orders, the extended wait times—35 minutes for water, over 50 minutes for a salad, and an hour for the main course—greatly detracted from the overall enjoyment of the meal. This place a BIG stay away and definitely not a destination that I would recommend or come back to again. Food is really low quality, feels like they are using expired ingredients.. Service is really bad. They don't take responsibility for the problems in the food and drinks. Would not recommend. Atmosphere outside is great because of fountains but inside not impressive. The hall looks good at first, but don’t raise your head up - ceiling, hood (ventilation). It may fall into your plate… Food is average, not too bad but also not so good, just ok. Ordered lemonades and a cappuccino and the cup of the cappuccino was all with old coffee stains! We let the server know and she made a grimace and just brought us a clean cup?! Didn’t even asked us to remake the order? Just brought a clean cup to pour the drink in it?! Like is that even real?? I was so disappointed because even the cappuccino was badly made! I do not recommend this place at all! We have a terrible in this bar. We wanted to have some dinner and drinks in front of the fountain but: 1- Service did not attend to us a few times and pass by, we manage to order a beer. 2- The draft beer we order it is flat like water and tastes rooted. 3- We could not order food as even marking the menu with the finger the waiter as about what we wanted. Finally we decide not to order any food. You can avoid bad and sit down at any of the park benches. Oh how the mighty have fallen! My last review 4 years ago was 5 stars and this was one of the best places to be in Plovdiv, but I was shocked to return and see what a mess has this place become. Upon sitting at the bar (great view of the fontains) I noticed the horrible state the bar was. Chipped, and unpleasant (picture attached). The waitress was polite and quick to serve and was the best thing from the whole experience. But that's about it. The chairs were falling appart (picture attached), the glasses we were served were not clean properly (streaks after dishwash use making them look dirty). There was no music coming from the bar (around 2pm) and a bit later the music was played on, but you could barely hear it. Gone were the young and vibrant customers, replaced by mostly people of old age and tourists like me who had no idea how bad this place had become. The surrounding was as gross as the bar and the chairs - and old furniture, unpleasant (picture attached). I ordered a vegetarian burger and you could see from the that the presentation was dreadful (some 5 year old would have presented the food better). The burger tasted somewhat ok, however there were no seasoning and the fries were horrible! My family was served with chicken burger which again was not seasoned at all and was so simple, I could literally go to the shop and make it in few minutes time. But don't get me started with the dessert, you could see it from the picture, the bottom from the Lind cake was missing! This is the ideal center of the second biggest city in Bulgaria, the bar is placed in the best possible place next to the beautiful singing fountains but apart from service everything else was beyond a joke! I don't think it's necessary to say it, but will do nonetheless - there is no chance I will visit this place again. Nice enough place, close to a beautiful fountain and close enough to the station. I'd recommend it for a quick lunch. Absolutely disappointed. Beautiful place with really bad food. Everything is prepared much, much earlier, probably somewhere else, no spices, low quality products, and instant ingredients... Like mushroom sauce. Risotto??? Common rice without the salt and spices... But prices like for a good quality dinners ... PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE!! Very close you can find good street food with friendly service... But not here!! The food was OK, but there was several sinew in the chicken. The service was very slow and unorganized. We got the soup and the chicken after 15 minutes, but we waited almost 60 minutes to get the a pork. I don’t recommend the place. Mojito was horrible. Asked to replace - was told no. Apparently it is their interpretation of the drink - no carbonation, no sugar. Paid for the drink in full. I’d just pick somewhere else to eat and drink. All other places had great drinks and amazing food! Don’t go here!
