We were on a long cruise from Lisbon and our first stop was Santa Cruz. Beautiful big port. Easy walk into city center where there is a lot to see. The is large and covers a wide area all overlooking the city. Great views of Santa Cruz from our balcony on the ship. Nice with beautiful views. Be careful leaving the crossing the green grass bridge. About 10 people from our ship were robbed. A vast area full of containers and ships. This is a great cruise terminal and port. Shuttles available to main part of town but easily walkable from ship to town. The information booth is to the right in back of the reflection pool where you can get maps and city information. The streets behind the information booth are the main business areas. The one to the left is mostly shops and to the right is mostly GREAT restaurants. My 3rd time to visit this island and today I went to the Loro Park. Very interesting wildlife refuge and upscale zoo with lots of endangered spieces of animals. They also have some enteraining shows with seals, dolphins, and orcas! Amazing view and lovely city. Would deffinately visit again! 10 minutes walk to the centre where all the shops are. Taxis outside that cost about 8 euros into the town. Worth a visit Disinbarked the cruise ship Marela Explorer November 2022 in Santa Cruz Tenerife, not having a return plane ticket to Britain, we thought we might spend a month or two exploring the Island which is fascinating, unfortunately being British we had to depart long before we had seen the whole Island because of the 90 day rule. Very sad to leave, but maybe we will return one day???. Great wee port. First time in Tenerife so didn't know what to expect. But a 10 min walk from ship takes you right to the gateway to wherever you wanna daunder. Very beautiful place to visit. Easy walking, beautiful architecture & safe environment. 1st time here.
