Skansen in Sierpc was a good idea and was very professional realized, having many attractions: country houses, outside museum, with haulage with horses for summertime and wintertime, inside museum, with country art, conference room, periodical religious and folkloric festivals, paddocks with riding horses, the possibility to watch hand makers at work and of course country restaurant to test the result of local production. I tried to add more details for tourists, by creating of individual locations on google maps for each country and I'm waiting for the owner comments, in order to adjust the eventually errors. A typical Masovian village has been recreated within the museum, consisting of nine peasant farmsteads from northwestern Mazovia. The buildings represent folk architecture from the late 19th century to the 1950s. The village is complemented by several independent architectural complexes, including: a miller's farmstead with a windmill; an 18th-century inn; a blacksmith's shop; a manor with a folk sculpture and coach house; a wooden church with a bell tower; and an 18th-century wooden manor from Uniszki Zawadzkie, surrounded by a park. In total, there are approximately 80 examples of rural architecture, the interiors of which are decorated appropriately to their function and place of origin. Whitewashed, thatched cottages, surrounded by vegetable gardens, orchards, and gardens, as well as fields where animals graze, give the impression that the village is still bustling with life. The open-air grounds are extensive. You should plan about three hours for a visit. At the inn, you can enjoy a traditional village meal. I recommend guided tours. What a beautiful place, the open-air seems to be founded quite recently and gives a good and well maintained impression. It's not a very big park, though it shows a dozen of interesting buildings. It's worth a visit when you're in the neighborhood! This is one of the most amazing places to visit in Mazowsze. I visited the place many times in the past, but there was lots of improvements done to the place. It’s well organised with clear directions to plan your visit. I love the idea of dressed guides and possibility to purchase hand crafted souvenirs in each of the house. It’s make the experience far more interactive. Great place I was pleasantly surprised by this - it was very well done and well maintained, worth a visit! Nice place for family visits. See how people used to live,seeing animals.Shame horse riding wasn't available day we visited. New complex is fantastic with great restaurant. Big desapointment is Pohulanka, themed restaurant with nice food but serves all on terrible,cheap plastic plates and uses plastic cutlery!!!!.
