Not a regular, we just went for the Warwick Soul dance, but it looks like a vibrant with good facilities. Everywhere clean and warm and well maintained. Happy staff, priced drinks. Modest onsite parking didn't seem to be a problem. Nice dance floor, but too many drink spills. Several dancers slipped over because of this. Reasonably priced drinks, nice atmosphere, Comedy nights and live music, snooker and pool tables, darts board. Also Televised sports and line dancing. Played a gig there with @seahorsepilots . Friendly staff The Nelson dates back 130 years with a rich history in the local town. If you are looking for a swanky pretentious wine bar it’s not for you. This is a fantastic venue for good beer, a good atmosphere with decent entertainment. Soul nights, Motown and wrestling to name just a few. It also has three snooker tables in lovely condition and three decent pool tables. Sports are also shown, all set in a relaxed environment and the steward is a friendly nice bloke. You can hire a large room for venues which works a treat for all kinds of occasions. We bring the kids down for a drink and a bag of crisps and they get to meet other kids and have some fun and socialise, it’s family friendly which is rare these days in the kind of place that takes me back to older days when things all seemed some what more wholesome. The beer is exactly the same as any other pub just cheaper than the usual £5.20/5.40 a pint. It’s 5 stars from us and long may its history continue. I had my 30th here at the weekend, the function room is very spacious and a perfect space for a party. The staff were all really friendly and welcoming! They were also very accommodating with allowing us in earlier in the day to set everything up! Highly recommend 😊 Lovely relaxed atmosphere. I can recommend the freshly made rolls - very nice snack with a beer! wouldn’t really recommend going there myself, locals absolutely rude, and so dirty in there.
