We can't get enough of it! The family who owns it are ridiculously nice people. The atmosphere is super quaint, neat, and fun! The life of the owner (the father) is super fascinating, I would love to learn more! But the food, OMG, the food, fabulous. They have the best burger, EVER. Homemade buns, sauces, fresh ingredients, the food is just delicious. They also have a huge selection of beer, like over 300 I believe!! We absolutely love this place and are kind of obsessed with their burgers!! Gorgeous location, a huge space upstairs with room for massive events! They have a knights hall and viking room. The father, Hans, made nearly everything you see! Table, chairs, paneling, and many of the weapons. They have hundreds of weapons and 🛡 shields. The swords are truly incredible! They are happy to give you a tour if you message or call in advance, and you will find it very fascinating! They serve mead, beers and wines, many authentic dishes, and famous burgers as well. For events, they offer a flat rate buffet style with several meats, vegetables, bread pudding and dessert. It is such fun, and Bettina and Tobias are also quite wonderful and warm. I can't wait to return! Also, you can commission (plan months ahead!) For a real, high quality weapon to be made for you or brought in from another country. If you ask, they will tell you what they have on supply or keep you on the list for certain items. What a fun place! Cute little restaurant. Small and cozy. Medieval themed decor. Five stars all around for Mittelalter Taverne! My husband and I had the most wonderful time talking with Hans. The staff was all so welcoming and kind. We had the best burgers and shared a wonderful bottle of mead from their wide selection of drinks. If you’re a DnD player or enjoy some medieval re-enactments, this place is a must see!
