However whilst heading back to Cres we saw a group of more than a dozen circling around above the road on a thermal updraft and they were quite impressive. This Center is a fantastic place focused on the care and rehabilitation of injured griffon - it is not a zoo! The staff is dedicated and knowledgeable, ensuring the well-being of these majestic birds. It’s an educational and inspiring experience, with a strong emphasis on wildlife conservation. We learnt a lot about the griffon and the important work being done to protect them. Highly recommended for anyone interested in nature and wildlife! Museum consists of two rooms where you can read everything about Griffon and local Cres people & their traditions and then you go outside where there is a cage with and dead sheep Nice educational center about Eurasian griffon vulture. In the building is a small museum split into 2 rooms. One room is about vulture and the second is themed about people who live in Beli, and island of Cres, and their history. Guides were really nice and helpful with patience for student questions. Behind the museum part is a large cage containing rescued griffon who are recovering there after being rescued by the people working at the educational center. Detracting one star because of the road leading to the center. Might be a bit unfair but as we were visiting as a group in a bus it was important for us. It is fine if you are in a car. But if you are in a bus it can feel really dangerous on certain parts of the road to get there. State and county should invest into helping improve the infrastructure so that it is safer for groups in buses to reach the site. People working there are giving their best, but state should also help them as it is important to preserve Eurasian griffon and that can be done by educating people about them at this beautiful educational/rescue centre. It's a really small museum (2 rooms and a small hall covered with printed pictures of the animals that habitat Cres). They don't t have any griffons there on recovery for now so it's just basic information about them on printed sheets that cover up the walls. It definitely doesn't justify the entrance fee. Too expensive for what is offered there. Souvenir shop is not open at 2pm (I think it's not open at all) so we had to go up hill to the restaurant near by to buy something for our kid. Also,parking is around 100m before the centre so you have to walk up hill to reach it. And if it's a hot day,enjoy. I don't know, it's nice but I wouldn't recommend going there unless you know they have some birds in recovery at that point. They are magnificent to see in person so the trip there and the fee would be worth it. Otherwise.. Fair ticket price, inside has a lot of information. We think kids will like it too. The outside were impressive. We enjoyed the museum! Very nice to see such big and beautiful birds. You can learn a lot, there are so many facts. You can see them when you drive up to the rescue center. I recommend A lot of useful info on nature in Cres and about the history of the island. Six rescued young were there recovering when we visited.
