Not worth the drive. Without the monster myth it’s just a really deep lake. Pretty but not worth the time to go out of your way to see it. There are two small lots and a nice rocky shore beach. Great beach, beautiful views over the Loch Ness , great for a , picnic, or even jump in to the lake A beautiful place to be in summer. But we went there in the peak December and it was very cold. The temperature there was nearly - 1 - 2 but we really enjoyed the mountain view from there. A pebble to enjoy stunning view along Loch Ness. This is also a home to the Nessie Hunter Steve Feltham! Lovely views straight down loch ness with a pebble and lots of drift wood. Walking routes nearby too and free spaces here or further up the road near the church. We decided that you can't go to Inverness without looking for Nessie and decided to stop at Dores Beach. Car was limited, but we were there in early October so managed to get a spot. No public toilets, which was a shame, but just meant we popped into the pub next door for a drink (and a bathroom!). Lovely along the loch, with a nature walk/forest further around. An absolute must! A beautiful spot to enjoy loch Ness, the scenery was fantastic! Plus a resident Nessie hunter lives nearby (sadly I was too early to see and talk to him) Definitely worth a stop if you are touring the loch. Lovely place so unexpected and unspoilt and a lovely coffee as bonus Beautiful and a lovely walk, is clean and well kept and there is an ice cream van and a wee van, there is a wee park for kids as well just off from the beach, stunning views and very magical A five minute from the leads you to a stunning forest adjacent to the beach, perfect for setting up a tent and camp. We were surprisingly not bothered by any bugs and mosquitos while we camped there in mid July. Note, however, that overnight is not allowed in the beach’s lot. You will therefore have to park your car in the street overnight. Make sure to clean up after yourself afterwards!
