I think the interesting bit about Clootie Well is the hundreds upon hundreds of people who have made the short trip from the parking area to the spring to tie an offering to help with their healing. This thought stayed with us as we traversed the steep steps to the spring and made the place seem somewhat eerie. Great trees all around and the spring water was crystal clear and although a bit of a climb and descend on chunky steps it was still worth the trip, oddly I liked it here. There are further walks to be had through the forest but the parking area is limited however, the attraction is well signed to guide the visitor to the focal point. Recommended. We had the pleasure of visiting the Clootie well while visiting Inverness. The Celtic legend speaks of offering a coin to the well then taking a piece of and dipping it into the well and tying it to a nearby tree. This is a historic site of healing. Really cool... it is quite small but there is a forest walk to be completed before or after your visit to the clootie well. if you fancy a longer stay Nice place to visit ,a walk through the woods and to see the well.
