We dined at Cawdor Tavern as a part of a tour group. We found the food, service, and atmosphere to be good. As a starter, I the Venison Sausage - which were excellent. My girlfriend had the Smoked Mackeral Pate, which she enjoyed. We both the lemon sole for our main entree, vwry good. For dessert, I the Raspberry Cranachan and my girlfriend had the Lemon Cheesecake, which she said tasted more like Chiffon Pie. The service was good and the atmosphere left no doubt that you were in Scotland. Really glad we stopped here, the food was amazing and staff were so friendly. The blackpudding scotch eggs were to die for and the carrots were so tasty I could have eaten them on there own. The parfait was absolutely delicious and so was the lemon meringue. Dog friendly too which is a bonus Popped in for a drink. What a lovely place. Dog friendly in the bar. Team serving had good crack & really nice. Percy the peacock was hanging around. We will definitely return!! We've visited the Tavern twice in the last ten days. The Sunday roast was delicious. On our lunchtime visit we thoroughly the venison toad in the hole and cauliflower Dahl followed by Brackla Whiskey Parfait. All delicious and thoroughly enjoyed. However, was very sad to learn that the Culloden Chicken had been removed from the menu. Keith & Lorraine S We had a meal in this pub and absolutely loved it. The food was delicious, full of flavour and really well presented. You can tell they use good quality ingredients and put care into preparing the dishes. The place has a really nice atmosphere and the service was so friendly. We felt welcome from start to finish, and it's definitely a place we'd want to go back to. For a classic Scottish meal and a beautiful tavern look no further. The haggis is amazing, as is the steak pie. Our waitress Sharee was absolutely lovely, and we had a wonderful time! Love a traditional country pub! This place is a hidden gem , staff are lovely (even when it's incredibly busy) the Sunday we visited the girls serving didn't stop. Food is incredible and I'd highly recommend a visit Recommended. Great food, friendly staff and reasonable pricing. I finally managed to find a place that serves both traditional Haggis and Tatties and a proper Scotch Egg, on my second visit to Scotland. Would gladly return!
