Haggis was great ! A modern way to introduce traditional dishes to someone whose new! Soup of the day were always great , it was sweet potato and carrot at the and was everything as you expected to be ! Warm comfort liquid in a bowl. Most of the food were good but the fish and chip was small, oily, and fish was not fresh. Was very disappointed along with the pinion ring☹️ however the duck breast were just simply amazing, really bring out the local sorted produce! . Over all it was good but avoid anything deep fried ! Nice menu with a selection to please everyone. Good separate menu of daily Specials. Separate lower cost menu for those watching their wallets. I had the Deep Fried Brie followed by the Smoked Salmon with Seafood and Chorizo the the Sticky Toffee Pudding. One of our favorite stops on our Scotland trip! We arrived tired and hungry about 30 minutes before closing, and they were happy to accommodate us. The food was very delicious, the staff is super friendly, and the atmosphere is lovely. So happy we passed by! The host of the nearby Guesthouse (The Laurels) recommended this hotel for an evening meal, and I was not disappointed. The fish and chips were excellent. (The food being served to other customers also looked very good). The staff were attentive and friendly, and the surroundings were warm and welcoming. A basic restaurant, the food was fine nothing spectacular though and it may just have been how hot it was when I visited, but the staff member I saw was not very welcoming. The decor was nice, well presented. I had a steak sandwich from the lunch menu, the food was fine but the steak was a little chewy. Over all it was an okay time, but nothing I would rush to do again. Second staying in Blairgowrie and wanted to try this restaurant last but didn't get to go. This around I went for my birthday meal and had an excellent experience. So, best cap off what I had. Starter - Black Pudding Fritters Main - Venison Loin Pudding - Lime and Passion Fruit Posset All of the food was absolutely superb. Really well seasoned and presented very nicely. Staff were excellent, very attentive and polite. Service with a smile indeed! Massive thank you to the waitress who put a candle in my sorbet 🙏🏽 What I love the most is you receive excellent quality food but with a family friendly atmosphere. My 5 year old son thoroughly enjoyed his meal! Interior is clean and very well decorated and car park is large with really good size spaces. Will return any I am in the area 🙌🏼 Great food. The specials menu is special. (Some places are just cleaning out the fridge.) I visited this restaurant near after a weekend of hill walking in Glenshee. The waiter Harry who served us was friendly and polite, and I even went back from my car to give him a £5 tip because I appreciated his service. However, when I got home and checked the receipt, I realised we had been charged £2 for what should have been a glass of tap water. My friend only asked for tap water to go with her Americano, and it looked like tap water — definitely not bottled. There was no mention from Harry that there would be a charge, and the receipt only said “drink,” which was unclear. We were also charged £2 for soda water. I know some pubs serve soda water for free… This kind of practice feels dishonest and unfair, especially when you’re not told in advance. It’s very disappointing, and it left me with a bad impression after what started as a pleasant meal. I can’t help but feel we may have been charged extra because we didn’t look local, we are in fact, Eastern Asian (Japanese) which makes it even more upsetting.
