Fantastic depicting the storey of the battle of Monti Cassino. It brings home the horrors of war and what people were put through It was closed. They decided that during Christmas holidays, when people has time and will to go around and visit, they are close. Of course the website didn’t report such closure, and the hours there reported were incorrect. Of course they didn’t answer to the phone calls in the previous days. Of course when the same day someone answered, said he didn’t know exactly, and that I had to call another number where, of course, no one picked up. If the Italian culture is in such hands, it is really said. Really a shame. Great museum. I liked it very much, it is not so much about seeing things (guns, helmets, tanks, etc) that remained from the war. In my opinion, the objective of this is to make us feel and understand what the soldiers and citizens went through in this war... how horrifying it was... it is a audiovisual museum! It is currently closed - no idea when it will reopen Small, but excellent museum. The focus is really on the human tragedy of Cassino, less on militaria. An approach I really appreciated. Opening times are limited. A fantastic museum, judging by previous reviews it seems they have listened, in areas. Prices now 5 Euro a person, very reasonable for the experience you get and doesnt reflect some older reviews about high cost. One area not publisised well is the timings and opening hours. The itself is run 3 times daily 0930,1030 and 1130 and lasts around an hour. It's an interactive guided and so isnt a place you can just turn up to outside of these times. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. There is a fantastic display that highlights the order of the battles and depicts the locations of the troops on the ground - moving with each battle. I unfortunately didn't get a photo but its near the end of the tour. For me, it joined much of the dots in understanding the battle and so may have been useful context earlier. A must for any battlefield visitors. A bit of an odd one this. The is guided but in our experience that meant being moved from room to room by a guide who then pressed the appropriate button. Friendly and well presented but for a place with such a history to tell it was decidedly lacking. Seems a missed opportunity. A fantastic with some incredibly helpful staff who went out of their way to make this a memorable experience The exhibits are mostly in Italian so don’t expect it to be laid out in English. But with a bit of effort you will have a wonderful visit My father in law fought here in the British army so it was a special 80 years later You should also the nearby Commonwealth cemetery Great multimedia experience. The guide was welcoming and we found it very interesting. Excellent with a great guide, gives a real insight on how the local population survived the war This is a gem! We had a guided (in english), and learned so much about what happened in Cassino, and how important it was in the war. We left wiser and thoughtful. «Never again», and here we are in 2024 - with a war in Europe again :/ Thank you for a wonderful and important museum!
