A lovely place to go for a walk on the Broads. Pathways are all boardwalks through the natural habitats. Dog's are not allowed. There is a nice shop and lot's of places to sit. Boat trips are also available. 04.07.2022 Went for a short walk, lovely on the broads. Used to go to the Malsters pub in the winter on a Groupon meal deal. Walk is short about 15 mins to the visitors centre with great views of the broads. Small selection of local broads postcards, cards and souvenirs to buy downstairs. Upstairs is a viewing area and activities for children to do. Free parking around the corner from the Malsters pub, public toilets opposite the pub. What a lovely place to visit - a sunny day helps. A well maintained boardwalk with plenty to see and many informative sign boards which tell you about the local wildlife and history of the area. Well worth a visit Came here after the news of the Ospreys nesting broke. After a 250 year wait, Ospreys have nested and successfully fledged chicks on Ranworth Broad. But what we found was so much more. We’d toyed with the idea of joining the NWT for some time, and did so. The staff were so friendly, funny yet informative, and obviously very keen to show off the Ospreys, a scope had been set up to view the nest, whilst a camera nearer the nest to get a better view was sending a live feed to a screen in the centre. We decided to take the boat trip round the broad, which I’m so glad we did, the gentleman navigating the broad and the waterway to the River Bure was brilliant, full of stories and anecdotes of the history of the Broad, he took us a close as was allowed to the Ospreys, allowing unbelievable views, well worth the trip. Parking is back in Ranworth village, just beyond the village sign. We walked to the centre, but I believe there’s a water taxi from Ranworth to the visitor centre. The walk takes you along a very well maintained boardwalk, along which there are stands and ponds and a hide, allowing some amazing views of dragonflies, and the fleeting glimpse (twice) of the blue flash that is the Kingfisher. A wonderful day, and we’re now NWT members too! Lovely staff Can't believe its free! And we got a boat tour (£10 each) and saw wild otters!! Well worth a visit.
