Clean beach. Really nice place, just a bit out of the town, quite and wide however there are some pubs or restaurants in walking distance :-) A really lovely that is dog friendly all year. A few cafes and pubs nearby and the parking is reasonably priced. We really enjoyed our day there for a quiet time by the sea. Not the best sandy beach, but never the less is a good for summer use. Great to see the sun rise today. Weather really good to us. Got there around 4.15am, and the sun rose at 4.30am. Well worth the early start! Clean open beaches, cycle paths and not full of trashy arcades. Free public toilets and huts to hire if needed. Pakefield is a charming destination, although it does give off a rather basic vibe, almost like a place more suited for a dog walk than a leisurely visit. While the landscape is undoubtedly beautiful, I did find it difficult to fully enjoy sitting on the pebbles due to the presence of numerous spiders and insects. It's worth noting that there is no shop available, but thankfully, public toilets are provided for visitors' convenience. Despite the lack of certain amenities, the overall natural beauty of the makes it a worthwhile spot to explore and appreciate. What a great beach. Clean lovely sand and a sprinkling of cafes and pubs within walking distance. Nice clean plenty wide open space, absolutely brilliant for dog walkers and children to run round and burn off all their energy. Please note the sea has a large drop at this end of town, if you want to go paddling it's much safer to go after the dunes closer to Lowestoft beach. Lovely peaceful basic beach, nice that dogs can explore here, seems a bit of a dog poopy tho, not sure how I feel about my baby playing on the sand? Think I will head towards Southwold or find other family beaches for baby to enjoy when weather is warmer! I’m still quite new to the area so don’t know many. Jolly sailor restaurant is good here and only place you can eat at it seems at the moment. There’s a tea house but that’s order and collect only. Parking is cheap here I am told. I didn’t drive/pay but those that did said it was good! Oh cute houses also. Didn’t use toilets by they are there and saw a tap for water by them too. Not any shops which is a shame but don’t think it’s that kind of beach.. would be good if was though! Another lovely visited in the area, spent an hour walking along the shore, enjoying the weather and the sea air. Not too busy being Mid October, enjoyed watching the other walkers and dog walkers similarly enjoying the beach. Having researched Dog Friendly beaches near our base camp, we settled for Pakefield. A lovely with plenty of parking, mix of sand and shingle. We wandered along to the Dean's Beans coffee hut and had lovely service. Nearby is a small playground for the kids but area lacking in toilets so we chose an 11.30 pint at the OddFellows pub just off the sea front to use the facilities. After a 7hour trip from Somerset, this was just the laid back morning we needed!
