As we walked further north and then east, following a trail hugging the cliff, we eventually came across this Tower of Fornells. The sea are spectacular here. We didn't go into this British built Tower originally used to defend the entrance to the tiny port of Fornells. We could have paid the modest entrance fee to visit the museum and climb to the top but we decided to focus simply on the and enjoy the slight sea breeze before heading due south down to the village itself. All very nice. I highly recommend visiting this tower and paying the small fee to enter. The interior is fascinating and very well presented, and the restoration work is excellent. Fornells is a very very cute town ! All white and sunny and 🥰 looks a bit like Greece. I loved walking around there, and go up the fort and the tower. Didn’t visit (I had to count my expenses) but the view there is amazing. Very easy to access by walk and by car. Fornells Tower is a fascinating piece of history set in a beautiful location. The tower offers stunning of the surrounding landscape and the sea, making it perfect for sightseeing and photography. Excellent example of this early 19C British built fortress. Beautifully restored on a hill overlooking the town one way and the sea the other. Visitors can go right to the top (2 photos) There is a small admission fee but it’s free on Mondays. Car parking at bottom of hill (10 min climb). There are many others around the island, some a bit dilapidated and others closed and barred as in photo There is a small walk up the hill, leading from the sea to this tower. The are amazing. You can see the boats and a lighthouse there. It is a nice place to see and I strongly recommend connecting it with visiting Fornelles as a town after that (wonderful place with lots of restaurants and a long promenade). We saw this as part of our Jeep tour, really great scenery from the top, highly recommend a visit Would reccomend going into the tower itself! It's only a few euros and the at the top were so worth it!
