It can take a whole afternoon to look round, all the sections are very comprehensive, I never knew there was so much to fishing. The staff were all very helpful, and friendly also has a lovely tearoom. It's such a spot to stop for tea and a scone. They had delicious date bars, which reminded me of my grandmother. They have a gift shop, local art, and the museum. Fabulous,informative, interaction for children, Great history telling This lovely of all things has grown since we last visited. Spent a good hour and a half trawling through the various rooms and exhibits. There was a Halloween themed challenge for our daughter which she really enjoyed. You'll be for clues by the end of it! Museum, packed with bygone info, don't be fooled by the small looking street size, it's like the tardis, boats and everything inside, explaining everything to do commercial and the way it evolved. Good attraction, if you like and boats. The exhibition is far far larger on the inside than you would expect. If your in Anstruther then I'd recommend a visit. Was £36 for 3 adults an OAP and a child. A lovely insight into the local life of fishermen and women. This experience takes you back to when the boats were following the Herring right up to the modern day fleet and the equipment used in todays industry. There are displays about plastic pollution, boat building, a boat yard and lovey cafe to visit once you have weaved your way through the museum. You can also visit the 'REAPER' when she is berthed in the harbour as part of this experience too. 🙂 with lots of models and full size boats and many other exhibits. Lots to see and read about the exhibits. Probably better not to bring kids under 5, though such an interesting and thought out museum, that really honours all parts of the fisheries story in scotland. couldn’t recommend it more!! place to visit and wheelchair friendly.
