Beautiful We were too late in the day to go to the Sacra di San Michele, but my father-in-law remembered this church. It was really beautiful and the details were pretty amazing. I was especially knocked out by the frescos. I'm not a huge fan of religious art of this era, but these were really animated and interesting. The grounds are also very pretty. Merita sicuramente fare una bella gita per immergersi nell'atmosfera dei pellegrinaggi dei fedeli che per molti secoli ha mo percorso avanti ed indietro la Via Francigena che attraversa le Alpi franco-piemontesi. L'abbazia é un gioiellino medievale le cui potenzialità però non sono pienamente sfruttate. Alcuni affreschi potrebbero essere restaurati e si potrebbero organizzare degli eventi mirati per la raccolta fondi qualora le entrate non fossero sufficienti a coprire le spese della manutenzione. É un peccato che l'Ordine Mauriziano non valorizzi questa piccola perla. Se intenzionati a visitarla consiglio di telefonare preventivamente o di consultare gli orari su internet.
