Amateurs d'armagnac ne cherchez plus votre trésor est ici. La visite de l'écomusée est très instructive, et la collection de bouteilles est un plaisir pour les yeux. La dégustation des différents armagnacs vous laissera un arrière goût de plaisir... Stopped here passing through on a journey, had considered going via Bordeaux but decided to go the country route and stop here, we didn't pre-book. We sadly didn't have time for the full guided but did the self led and learned loads about Armagnac, we'd been to Cognac and Jarnacso it was great to learn about the differences too. We also discovered Floc, which we'd never heard of before, which has an interesting story you'll be able to learn about yourself when you visit. The hosts here are very friendly and welcoming and we had a lovely tasting, the 40+ year old Armengnac was immense and we've got a couple of bottles jangling along for the rest of our journey. Highly recommend a stop, even if you only have less than an hour but definitely could use more time as there's lots to explore in the walking routes and, of course, the guided Château Garreau is a fascinating place for a visit. There are several museums on the property with displays on Armagnac, antique farm equipment and a great display of old liquor bottles. The history of the place is very interesting and includes an underground cellar. The grounds are extensive and beautiful with lakes and walking trails. All this plus some of the best Armagnac you will taste! Lovely place to buy your armagnac We were Armagnac newbies and quite enjoyed the to Chateau Garreau. We had a self guided tour, thankfully a number of boards are translated to English. The estate is very beautiful, but let's be honest, the real hero of the is the tasting at the end. We had a lovely gentleman explain to us a lot about how Armagnac (and related spirits) are made, and generously poured more samples than I could count. We found the explanations interesting and engaging, with helpful highlights of the tasting notes. We obviously walked out with a bottle of a nicely aged Armagnac, and two bottles of floc. Also, no problem to with a small dog. We're probably going to again if we are in the area next time. This is a really nice experience. The eco-museum is interesting and the of the Armagnac cellar is a must. Great to learn about how Armagnac is made. Tasting is very informative. If you are in the area you can not miss this wonderful experience! After a very informative self guided and short film we returned to the tasting room where Gregoire explained about the different types and ages of Armagnac and we tasted so many we lost count. A very generous and interesting guy. Thank you! It was a very special treat on my birthday Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
