In this amazing historical building at the harbour of this historical town Hoorn are 2 restaurants located: downstairs a bar and upstairs a proper restaurant. We made a reservation for upstairs: what a gorgeous place! The menu has a variety of traditional Dutch food influenced by some other cuisines. We started with bread and meat followed by a typical Dutch main course: chicken sate. It was all very tasty especially in such a beautiful decor. Thanks ladies for the wonderful evening! Amazing place, food and a great view. During our holiday in the Netherlands we visited De Hoofdtoren in Hoorn. We chose this restaurant because of its location. The restaurant is located nearby some small canals in the city center of Hoorn. The building is an old toll house with much history. When we visited De Hoofdtoren the weather was and many people were eating and drinking outside. I can advise you to reserve a table when you want to eat here. This is because they don’t have that many tables. The menu was and they also have a cocktail menu. My wife and I chose not to eat here because it was still too early. We ordered some tapas with fresh calamari. These were great. We also ordered some cocktails which were good. The other tapas dishes were also good. I gave the restaurant 5 stars because of the location and the tapas. The cocktails are also and the prices are reasonable. Scenic setting the harbour in the history of the Dutch East Indies company.
