Bit of a pub with captive audience. This is down to its location. Busy, pleasant and plenty of staff. Pets are allowed in. Tables were sticky, which means the are trigger happy with Diversey products and not actually rinsing now and then with damp (plain water) cloth between sprays. The food was okay, nothing to shout about, my fish was pale and bland. Peas were tasteless too. The puddings were gorgeous and drinks were very competitively priced. Wheelchair accessible, disabled parking space and clean toilets. Lionel whom works behind the bar was the only genuinely pleasant member that engaged with the clientele. Would recommend. Classic Gower watering hole for cyclists. Located at the bottom of Ilston Cwm. Nice locally sourced food. Had fabulous food here. Great music, staff, and prices. It's definitely worth a visit. What a turnaround for this pub under new owners. food, setting and friendly staff. The quiz night on Tuesday is really fun. Plus the best pub Sunday Lunch we have had in a long time. Highly recommend the beef or steak sharing boards. Delicious food in front of the log fire. Portions are huge. Dogs welcome. Cannot rate this place highly enough, the is stunning, giving off rustic vibes with antlers and dark wood and brick outlays and gorgeous wall paper. Staff we lovely, didnt bug us and didn't leave our plates and glasses on the table. My husband I shared the tomahawk steak sharing plate, we love steak and this one was cooked to perfection! Presented beautifully, the whole meal was incredible. We had the brownie for dessert which was equally delish. Restaurant and loos were clean and tidy. Can't wait to go back and try their Sunday lunch Got there around 20.45 yesterday, only managed to order chips as the kitchen closes at 21:00. pub. atmosphere. Very welcoming. Beautiful looking pub and food menu. Cant wait to have a proper meal from there and the chips were chunky and really nice. See you soon I visited on a Monday lunchtime, good choices and special boards. I had fish pie which was really tasty. Definitely worth a visit. aswell. 👍 Pub. Chris & his team made us feel welcome and the place felt very relaxed. Lovely food & good service. Will be going back. So, first thing, this is genuinely the first time in my life i have seen Tournedos Rossini on a . Guess what i had for dinner. At £30 for a portion, they were epic. Unforgettable. It's filet mignon, with foie gras, and shaved truffles, all in madeira sauce. The was very simple, straightforward, and fast. Fiver for a pint is absolutely reasonable, coming from London. I am planning to return multiple times to try the other dishes on the menu, if they maintain this level of quality, this will be the best food experience i have had in 20 years in this country. The food is outstanding. This place has changed ownership recently and it’s fantastic. They’re super dog friendly, the pub interior is what a proper country pub should be and the are great. Try it out for yourself! Real cosy here were lovely. Food was I was happy to have a choice being vegan! My sister had the naughty chips they looked and she said they were amazing! Absolutely brilliant! We were recommended The Gower Inn by friends since it changed hands. They have a fantastic with lots of options of high quality, local produce. The was excellent, all were very friendly and and the whole was lovely. We have already booked to go back. My family and I decided to pop in for some Sunday lunch, we actually timed it perfectly as we hadn't booked and there was a table of four available for us. The couldn't of been more welcoming, I'm assuming it was the manager (a woman who greeted everyone) who not only accommodated us but I noticed others who hadn't booked made sure that they could arrange seating so they didn't have to be turned away. was lovely, walkers, families and their dogs were all enjoying a autumn afternoon in the warm pub. Food is stunning here, beef was immaculate! we had calamari to start which my two and three year old even enjoyed! Food was prompt, piping hot and made to order. The child portions were big also, despite my children's best efforts they were defeated in the end. We will be back soon! thanks again x Such a and food was excellent. Huge car park in a woodland setting. Friendly and an excellent selection of local ales and other drinks. I ordered the Chefs special of ‘Hand seared pigeon breast’ for £18, which was amazing. The lamb shank shepherds pie was too - excellent value. Definitely will return! Burgers, & Top at the Gower Inn We had an amazing time at the Gower Inn during our stay nearby — it quickly became our go-to spot. The food was brilliant, and the burgers in particular were absolutely incredible. Packed with flavour, cooked perfectly, and served with some of the best chips we’ve had in a long time — crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and properly satisfying. Perfect fuel for what we were about to take on! We were in the area to take on a 100km ultra challenge, and the Gower Inn played a big part in getting us there. The food and warm helped keep us going, and we’re proud to say we completed the challenge and earned our medals — powered in no small part by those burgers! The really made the experience too. The owner and boss were both and passionate about their menu, which clearly shows in how they treat their team. We especially loved hearing about the tasting sessions — a brilliant way to get everyone on board and knowledgeable. Special mention to Angus, who truly went above and beyond. Friendly, professional, and just a top guy — he made us feel at home and looked after us every step of the way. He’s got a bright future ahead of him. Highly recommend stopping by the Gower Inn if you’re in the area — fantastic food, a team, and a atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back! Excellent pub ! food sourced fresh! One of the best meals I’ve ever had. were and a place to visit! Definitely recommend. Amazing food. atmosphere, staff. (Thanks Eden) Popped in from the campsite and didn’t expect such lush food. All other dishes I could see looked amazing too. Probably the best burger I’ve ever had. Definitely definitely go back again when down that way. Since Chris has taken over here, the food and the is absolutely incredible. It is constantly busy and we come every week for food drinks and a time. We had our private engagement party there last night, and the food, service, and all around vibe was incredible. Lionel - you are amazing and we are so grateful for all you did for us last night. All members of also did an amazing job, keeping up with drink orders and bringing out food orders for 27 people! To the chef- the food was perfect, as it always in- and we are very grateful! We are so lucky to have this perfect pub on our doorstep, and we are over the moon that we can cherish these memories forever, and think of the Gower Inn 🖤 Excellent and selection of meals.. Delicious meal whilst watching top quality live music. Ceri found us a table even though they were fully booked. Wouldn’t normally leave a review, but our experience was the best I’ve experienced from a pub, we arrived with our dog Sadie (Belgium Malinois) signs and dog station, treat station just shows how dog friendly they are, all the asked if they can say hello and made a huge fuss over her which she loved, hadn’t booked a table to eat but was welcomed to reserve a table while we had drinks in the garden, sat down to eat and the food was incredible, steak and lamb rump, were very and efficient. Would highly recommend visiting.
