My wife and I were cycling from Groningen and got soaked in the rain, so the Tea Factory turned out to be the perfect find. We shared a delicious mustard soup and a sandwich, along with a couple of their signature with liqueurs. The place is charming, with a flower-filled terrace and the gentle hum of bees. It gave us the warmth and energy to continue our ride. Housed in a former church, the tea house is truly unique, with its own and a large shop where we picked up some to taste at home. Super cosy and so many different tea's. It's to sit outside during summer days but also comfortable inside the church. Atmosphere is cosy. You should really try to make a reservation for one of the high and make sure not to eat before. There's also a cute tea store. You can buy the tea flavors from the menu there to take home. Or buy a gift. Amazing selection of excellent teas, but I'm afraid they have no clue what a scone is. What was served seemed to be dinner rolls or American savory biscuits! For those prices they could stand to look up a recipe. Or visit England at least once! Loads of vegan and organic food options and very tasty! It is such a cute place and has so many flavours of tea. The tea itself was very and I cannot wait to come back to try more flavours. The staff is also very friendly :) We went for the tea part. ( so can’t comment on food) The building was a derelict church and in 1989 there was a radio competition to do something with it. 80 Submissions received, tea chosen. So no links to Dutch East Indies, and no tea was actually manufactured here. Just a random building. Odd location for it. It's a lovely place to visit. Great selection of (even alcoholic ones). The could use an upgrade and is a bit messy but on the other hand it's only 2 or 3 euros to enter. Would highly recommend. The cycle from Groningen is very long though!! Special place, nice breakfasts and teas, super tea shop. All this in a very small building and with a garden.First I see garden floor made with broken seashells :) Lovely place for a cup of tea - the difficulty is choosing which one! Cake is good, too. We also enjoyed the - although you could go to the cafe without visiting. Inside a converted church with outside seating area, too. A great find. Great place to have a look in Groningen province. Beautiful location with selection of tea and food. The tea is nice, but there could be slightly more regard for the colonial past and slavery within the tea trade. The Witches Tea is well worth it for those who have a sweet tooth and saying spells over a cauldron!
