Great location, beautiful view, like heaven! The double was spacious enough for two, the bed had an excellent mattress (memory foam). But the air in the was very humid and bad smelling, like mould (because of the carpets, very dirty). The window wouldn't open wide to breathe some fresh air, just a little bit, because of the window type. The window didn't close very well, so we heard the noise of the cars all night long. The restaurant (indoor) smells bad, but we ate on a beautiful porch outside. The breakfast is poor, it's not included and you have no other choice, because the closest town, Herculane is very far. Nevertheless, the host is very nice and friendly, the view is excellent, the mountains are so close, so we will come back again. It is in the middle of the "wild". You have no signal. It is a deafening silence. A wonderful location with great food. And mostly Marius si Alina are lovely ! We loved the place,the food and specially the owners. It is close to any activity we wanted ( hiking, climbing and canyoning) without the " gypsiness and uncleanness from Herculane. Good food, at very reasonable prices. The beer could be a bit cheaper (its 6 ron for one beer). The rooms are simple and clean. The hosts are pleasant, honest and hard working people. Its basicly a family bussiness; they do everything themselves: cooking, cleaning, serving. For the kitchen - last order is around 9 pm, so make sure to order by then. The sheets were clean and the was cozy. I appreciate me and my friend were welcome at 10:30 PM when we arrived, as it was late, and the road was long and tiring. The showed us the room. I find the rather not polite with tourists: Reason 1: he told me and my friends that one can book a only in the day of the stay: I had to stay there one Friday night, and he told me I could make a booking only Friday morning. I find this very uncomfortable because I come from 300 km distance (from Brasov) and what could I do if I do not find spare rooms when I plan my holiday?! This makes planning impossible. I have to admit that after trying 2 times to call in 2 different days, I managed to book a double on Thursday (the previous day before departing home to the Dumbrava House). Reason 2: the did not announce his wife or the kitchen lady that me and my friend asked for breakfast the next morning, despite the fact that he told us we could have one after 8 AM. All the doors were locked at 8:20 AM and we had to knock 3 doors to inform someone that we had to pay the and needed something to eat. We waited for 30 minutes for his wife to come up and talk to us. His wife was gentle enough and made us a good omelet and tea. I find this very unprofessional and I am under the impression the does not enjoy having guests. Reason 3: Also, when I came back on Tuesday noon (middle of the day: 14:00) from a great trek in Cernei mountains, the doors were locked: I could not even get a beer or a glass of water, or use the restroom. I consider this is a pity, as the place lies in a great area with stunning views. I understand one cannot prepare food in such short notice for a group of people, but at least water, beer and restroom can me made available, especially in this nice area. Again, I am under the impression the does not enjoy having guests. I find the interaction with the very difficult because of these reasons. I totally understand that cell signal in the area is poor, but this is not an excuse to make your guests feel like they do not deserve a good stay. If the does not change the reservation policy, so that one can book in advance a (like all the guest houses do these days), plus keep his word when saying something, I consider choosing another place to stay next time when I need to go in this area. Overall, I am satisfied with the and the breakfast made by his wife, and totally dissatisfied with the owner's attitude towards guests. Five stars for guest house located in the forest and near Valea Cernei. No signal - better for experiences. No stars for cleanliness and hygiene. I care a lot about this aspect regardless of the accommodation. There is no wifi or cell signal. No connectivity. Standard 3 * mountain hotel. Rooms are adequate and comfortable. Bed is comfortable. Plumbing functions as required. Can recommend if on a budget. It was the off season so the restaurant and bar was closed There was only one bathroom available for those who stayed in the camping. The toilets didn't flush properly. The food was decent, but you had to pay 35 lei for breakfast, and you only got an omelette few slices of tomatoes and some jam. There was absolutely no Internet. If you wanted to camp, you had to wash yourself in the Cerna River, which was overstreet. The rooms were tiny, and the bedsheets were stained. The cleaning was not the best either. The hallway leading to the hotel rooms was filthy. I do not recommend this hotel. The staff is not very friendly, the food is cooked in traditional style. It is cold inside the building, here if you do not have vodafone, there is no signal at all, and the wi-fi password does not want to be transmitted.
