The parking in the neighborhood is really easy and many cats great you when you go out of the car :) The walking is easy, few minutes and you are on the salt. Pay attention not to go far because the ground is wet, slippery and can be unstable. The view is nice. At some hours can be beautiful to take pictures. No flamingo around. The weather was hot and dry, but I found this spot and just sat there, enjoying the breeze. It was so comfortable I didn’t feel like leaving! Plus, you can enjoy the airplanes take off 😉 In summer, the is completely dried up, so there’s not much to “see” in the traditional sense, but you can actually walk on the lakebed. The dried mud felt like crunchy crackers under my feet, such a fun and unique texture! I couldn’t help but wonder... has anyone ever tried to walk all the way across to the other side when the is dry? A simple but strangely satisfying stop. I’d imagine it looks completely different in winter. We rented a car and spotted the on the map. We are staying at Larnaca so it was only a 5 minute drive. Free parking, no one around. However, don’t expect much else—there are no cafes, shade, or activities nearby. Great for a quick stop, but bring water and sun protection! I stopped by the hoping to see the famous lake… but it’s completely dried up. Only a few white patches left here and there. Kind of disappointing, but still an interesting sight — nature never stops surprising us. One of the best sunsets I've seen in a long time. If you can go I'd definitely advise it.
