High Score Arcade in Newbury is a fantastic find, especially if you're already at the shopping centre — it’s conveniently located with easy access to parking and plenty of nearby eateries like Nando’s, making it an ideal stop for families or groups of friends. The arcade itself has a spread of games, from nostalgic classics to modern setups. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles multiplayer game was an absolute blast, but the standout for me was the solo VR experience — incredibly immersive and a real highlight of the visit! What’s also is the family-friendly vibe. The recently added extension is packed with kid-friendly games, so there's genuinely something for everyone, whether you're a seasoned gamer or just in for a bit of fun. Highly recommend for a fun, all-weather day out! Went recently for the first as invited to a party. The were welcoming and no interrogation on arrival as we'd also brought along an extra adult and a toddler. Straight in to the playing area with an array of arcade games. There was something for everyone from the driving of OutRun (my favourite) to 80's Space Invaders right up to modern day "get the aliens" and of course Air Hockey. We were all left to play for the allocated time, including the adults! member then showed us to the room, for the cake and food which was nicely laid out and decorated. Lights on the ceiling were a nice touch. Although not a big room it was adequate for the size. The gave out the medals for the top 3 who were excited to stand on the winners blocks to have pictures taken. Proud moment! When the had finished and the next one arrived we took the toddler to a section of the arcade with age appropriate so they could play too for a while and the never came to rush us out. We'd definitely be back so that was a plus. Do bear in mind though if travelling by car there is no parking on site. We drove past the venue to the car park which is just a short walk away and not too expensive. Loved our visit! Took my 9 year old yesterday and we both really enjoyed it, some very rare games, didnt have to wait to use, variety and range of machines. we're friendly and engaging, we'll certainly be returning! Today my son met Mario and Luigi there (again) and had the of his life playing a game with Luigi, he had his heart set on challenging Luigi, as he played Mario last time! We'll be back soon. This does not reflect on poor staff, yet reflects simply on poor management. We recently held our son's here and it was absolutely brilliant!
