Tidworth, United Kingdom Leisure center

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Great place. Plenty enough parking, big changing rooms for swimming, great layout. There are playpens to allow parents to pop their down and not struggle with and bags at the same time. There is Space for buggies. Great cafe with freshly made sandwiches, toast, paninis, absolutely delicious. Pool temp is just right. Nice little pool to take baby, water is warm and family swim on weekday mornings are often quiet with only a handful of other parents and small children. Have been the only ones there sometimes too. Showers are warm and have always worked. Changing rooms are a bit chilly but lots of space and changing tables inside large cubicles. Have brought a car seat inside and was fine to leave on top of lockers, space for pram too. Nice place to introduce a small to water 😊 Good machines, does get a bit busy early evening and people sat on the machines just staring at their phones not sure why. It looks like they have been brainwashed. Staff are helpful and great. Overall a good gym which I use 5 or 6 times a week. A well equipped leisure centre with plenty of recreational areas and activities. From squash courts, dance studios and table tennis, to the indoor pool and gym area. The gym could do with updating like the other Wiltshire gyms have been lately, but everything is still there that you need. Overall, this is a great leisure centre. Ample parking with wheel chair accessible front entrance. Great place, clean and tidy. We drove over to Tidworth a few weeks ago as 5 rivers was closed all day, was told the flume was not on at reception; no big issue really but would have been nice for little one. little one only lasted 25 minutes as the main pool was pretty cold, changing room doors were wedged open as well leaving the changing rooms cold as well. The showers/entrance to the pool stank of urine and the showers didnt work property. Not great Difficult to write this one as the pool is a great facility to have for the community and most of the staff are really friendly. Sometimes you'll get lucky and it's really enjoyable, which is probably why we persist with using it. Lane swims however are simply a free for all. If you are a mid range swimmer then it will be hit or miss getting a decent session in. There are four lanes with three levels of ability. You will often find though that the medium lane is taken up by swimmers swimming slower than those in the slower lane. People will even get up and walk around in the middle of the lane or wallow holding onto the ropes as if it's a free swim period making it incredibly difficult to get past them when faced with oncoming swimmers. As more and more swimmers get backed up behind these slower ones it becomes a waterlogged M25. If you have any form of anxiety associated with being hemmed in by people swimming right up close to you with no concept of social space then this will be your idea of hell I'm afraid. The life guards will generally not do anything to manage the lanes (or at least we've never seen them do so) and we have often felt pushed out having to leave our swim early, especially on a Friday afternoon, because it just becomes unpleasant. If you are after a work out during the these sessions, as most leisure center lane swims are supposed to be, then as a strong, fast swimmer you should be ok, generally the slower swimmers avoid those lanes. If you are mid range then we'd recommend Durrington or Pewsey for better managed swims. If you are posted here from Aldershot then we'd probably suggest keeping your Hampshire pass and using Andover leisure center. No disabled shower or even changing facilities, despite website stating otherwise.
