There is a park, plenty of space to have a picnic and some water features as well....very easy to relax and unwind. There is plenty of benches and a regular ice cream van that parks on the entrance if your coming from town. A few festivals happen here every so often as well....well worth the trip is the suns out and you want to take a load off. Its about a 10minute walk from the centre of town. Nice small playground next to the lovely park. Parking is just nearby, city centre only few minutes walking away. Great place for families:) Loverly place it's our favourite place to go in the summer. Put down a blanket and stay all day he always makes a friend to play in the water with. I personally would like to see less rubbish left lying around, but the council do a lot of hard work keeping the grounds looking good. Opposite the rivers island, instead of the bank regularly becoming a swamp, there could be a wide step made into the water, for younger bathers.
